Thanks again for all the help!

Me too!  I emailed Annie about this and her response wasn't very clear.  From what I gathered, she said the company has recently invested a lot of money into services like photography and they are trying to promote the use of in house photographers.  I also asked her if there would be any other charges not mentioned on our contract.

This was her response, "Yes, the company have been investing in our photography service and this is the reason of the price increment. Have you already booked with another outside photographer? We for sure trying at our most to keep the price as it is, mostly for services that have been confirmed on your contract, but for other services we are working with some external supplier, and so, some prices might be subject to changes do to the fact that we do not have a major control on their price raise."

It seems, the couples who have already booked should be fine but until it's finalized on the contract, nothing is for sure.  Please let us know if you get any new info.! :)

Hi Kim!

Our group is staying at the Barcelo Puerto Vallarta (we are staying there and getting married within a couple of weeks of you!!) but I haven't asked about group bookings at the restaurant yet. I will let you know once I find out, unless I see that someone else replies before then. cheesy.gif

Also, is anyone staying at the Barcelo in Puerto Vallarta?  If so, do you know if they will do group bookings at their restaurants?

Thanks,

Hello,

I am getting married on June 30 and our group is staying at the Barcelo.  They can do a private dinner for 2-hours including cocktail service for $24 per person.  I have not had much luck with getting them to do a group reservation at one of their restaurants.  I did speak to someone again to today and she assured me I would receive a call back to confirm my options by Monday.  I will keep you posted.

Great news!  I did hear back from the Barcelo this week and there was the private dining I mentioned for $24 per person.  However, they were able to confirm a 30-person reservation in one of their specialty dining rooms for no additional charge.

Yes, I heard the same thing, that the specialty dining room will count as one of your three dinners at the specialty restaurants, but that they will do the reservation free of charge! That's fine by us, as long as we are all able to sit together!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
