I'm So excited! We booked Las Caletas after postponing our at home wedding due to size! We are so excited and just found out today that our "at home photographer" for our first planned wedding has offered to come and do our wedding at Las Caletas!!! I'm seriously on cloud nine since we had already paid part of her fees and she does amazing night time photography!!!! Ahhh I can't wait for our wedding in March!

Hi Lesley,

It was probably me or my girlfriends you saw at Dreams with the luggage tag. Most of our guests departed the day after the wedding and we stayed a day extra. Now I wished we could have stayed one day longer, we really needed a day to just relax. I'm sure you are having a blast at Dreams. So cool that you returned to Las Caletas after the wedding, we are planning to do the same this coming November during a cruise stop.

Catch up with you when you get back. I'm excited to see your pictures. There's something magical at Las Caletas that in my opinion can't be found anywhere else, all the brides glow and just look extra happy (from what I can see in the pictures for LC weddings).

I would love to go on and on about it and I promise I will write a long long review but I have to get back to my honeymoon :). I just have to say that Kelley is amazing as always, Vallarta Adventures is awesome also (we have already done the Marietas and Outdoor Adventure excursions and everyone that works for the company is excellent, tomorrow we are doing sea lions), our photog, Jared Rey (Hernandez), who I found on this forum, was an absolute lifesaver, so nice, and so much fun. Dreams so far is pretty good and we are enjoying ourselves. We loved staying at the Westin also before the wedding. I might never leave PV, we will see........I will be back next week with more details and pictures, but rest assured these are the most amazing people and the most amazing scenery to have for your wedding so no worries!! By the way Lea I saw maybe you or one of your guests having breakfast at Dreams the other morning (saw their luggage tags) ;)

Hi Ivietti,

We started off our planning the same way. We were 3 months into planning a local wedding and a venue near the beach, but cancelled the whole thing and decided to do Las Caletas. Best.Decision.Ever. My family thinks the same way too (even the ones who were not on board in the beginning with our destination wedding).

Congrats on booking Las Caletas. Enjoy each step of your planning, it will go by fast.

Thanks! Yeah we are so excited it's as if Las Caletas was meant to be and I do not regret postponing the other one! Glad to hear the (non supporters) eventually got on board. We have a few of those right now, but we aren't letting it stop us because Las Caletas is just too beautiful! Save the Dates arrive in the mail today! Can't wait to send them out!!! :)

Have a blast!

I have heard you will definitely need a 2-prong surge protector so all your b-maids can get ready and plug in their curling irons, etc.

Hey ladies! I bought my dress today!!!! Just a question...did you guys have a train? My dress has one, I was thinking of not having one, but wasn't sure so I thought I would seek advice from those of you who have gotten married at Las Caletas! Thanks

My wedding gown was not a typical beach wedding dress, and I wore my dress with the long train walking down the aisle and during the ceremony. Right after, my MOH and my girlfriends all helped tie the bustles (about 10 of them) and my dress was fine the rest of the night. After it was all said and done, including the Trash the Dress session, it ripped it 2 places, but it was minor and nothing a simple sewing machine can fix.

Here's a picture of me walking down the aisle, you can see the train.

2 prong extension cord, extra towels if you have a lot of girls going with you early in the morning. Keep in mind that the showers in the bridal casita have no stalls, there are 2 showers to share, sort of like locker room style. We only had 4 girls with us and we were able to take showers 1 at a time and we didn't share shower time.

Have a wonderful wedding. Today is our one week + 1 day anniversary!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
