kya-

Fernando is amazing and is well worth the money.  Kelley sets up everything for you.  Take inspiration photos.  I was so nervous not meeting him beforehand, but I promise you, he's worth it.  He spends about 2 1/2 hours (I have long hair) and I was so pleased with his work.  I think he works exclusively with Las Caletas and owns his own salon in Bucerias.  I havent heard any past brides compain about his hair/make-up.  If you can swing the price, he's worth it.

Thanks Nessa! From everything I have read, I am definitely going to go with Fernando. I also have very long hair, so I expect it will take a long time also. I still have to figure out how I would like it to be done, it's a good thing I have a year :) I don't ever do too much with my hair so I'll have to start searching some sight or mags for ideas.

Has anyone used a DJ outside of Kelley's list?  My fiance and I are really into dance music that is remixed with high energy, and not all DJs have that type of music.  We thought about doing some research on local Puerto Vallarta DJs that play at the local clubs but haven't started yet.

If anyone has gone with a different DJ that plays more "dance" music, could you direct me to their website or provide info?

Thanks!

Hello,

We had the same issue. My soon to be brother in law is a house DJ and producer so we wanted someone that was more our taste. When is your wedding? We are bringing someone with us to do ours. I went out a few times when I was there. I will look up the name of the club we went to..the DJ was great.

choeft201 - my wedding is just under 9 months from today - October 20, 2011.  If you find the name of the DJ that you liked, can you forward his name to me?  That would be tremendously helpful!!  Hopefully he had some samples I can listen to.

Lesley - I haven't been to LC (yet) so I can't comment on the DJs Kelley has, but it sounds like they will play whatever music you want, you can even give them a playlist of songs. The songs we like are sometimes hard to find or unique remixes to popular songs that the DJ may not necessarily have or be able to find through his music sources so I'm just doing some research to see what else is out there  :)   I have read great reviews from the people that have hired Kelley's DJs so I wouldn't worry there if that is the route you are taking!

choeft201 - our wedding is just under 9 months from now - October 20.  If you find the name of the DJ, it would be tremendously helpful!  I feel like there aren't a ton of DJs out there (and who knows in Mexico) that play the style of music we like. :)

Another option is to burn the mixes you like to CD or put on your IPOD and give to the DJ to play. I will try to find the name

I was wondering if any LC brides had done "boarding" passes for their guest to board the catamaran... I was thinking about doing that and putting them in the OOT Bags. Any thoughts about that??? Or where one could make something like that or find a template???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
