Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

We got married on a Tuesday for that same reason. The marina would be REALLY packed and I wouldn't want to deal with that either

No one got sick on the boat.. the ride isn't bad at all... but anyone that might get sick should bring some Dramamine just to be safe... and I wouldnt worry about the alcohol/boat combo.. our party got a little crazy on the ride back and everyone was still good!

we had 3 younger kids at our wedding (all under age 10). They loved it there! actually they spent the entire day there with me and kayaked, hiked, snorkeled...all that fun stuff.

Yes it is fine there for kids BUT you have to remember that there are no actual lights there once it gets dark. everything is lit by torches or candles. so yes a child (or anyone really) could easily trip and fall once it gets dark, that in my opinion would be the only "safety hazard", especially making the walk back to the boat from the reception area. But really it is fine for kids.

Nobody got sick on the boat out of my guests either but they all did say it was a VERY VERY choppy ride. I think that though is because the boat was late leaving PV with my guests (my guests fault not Vallarta Adventures) so they had to book it out there.  all the boat rides though that I have been on to LC and back were very smooth, including for the wedding I have been out there 3 times.

oh! and what was your question about December weather? I did my site visit in December...the weather was beautiful! a bit chilly in the evening but not cold by any means. We did not go though during the holiday season, more the beginning of December so yes I can imagine that flights will be more expensive for your guests in late december just because of the time of the year. If you give them enough time to plan/save you should be fine.

Ok, something I didnt think of.  Fernando is doing my hair/make-up and the quote was $220.  Did anyone else have him do someone else's hair/make-up?  I was thinking about having him do my Mom's hair/make-up, but wasnt sure if this is another $220 or not?  Anyone do this or something similar?

I had him also do my flower girls hair. I had no BM's. I think my total for my hair/makeup and FG's hair was like $270ish...I added a tip to that though too.

Andi-  I'm not having any BM's either....  Small & intimate.  Plus, I dont want the drama =)

I thought I'd give that as a gift to my Mom so she didnt have to worry about it.  $80 doesnt seem so bad for hair.  She can do her own make-up (ha).

Kat....more coffee at 3pm?  Yikes....I'd be up until 3am if I drank that late!!

Thanks for the input!

There is not a cap at 80 people it is just a differernt price after the 80th person.

Glad it is not 220 for others that need hair and make-up, since I will be having bridesmaids.

I am really sold on LC I think!  Nothing else I see compares now.  Do the torches and candles keep the area lit enough for it to be comfortable for everyone there.  Looks really beautiful in the pictures!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
