Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

Recommended Posts

Thx for the reply Kat and Andi!

I'm still waiting to hear back from the company on this answer - I hope they can return my question soon!  While you seem to all know so much about Las Caletas, can I ask a few more questions?

  • Do you know the rain contingency plan?
  • Does the company pick up guests via catamaran (for the primier package) only from certain hotels or any hotel along the PV coastline?
  • Do you have a recommendation of where to have all guests stay?  From the posts I've read, it seems like Dreams is the popular place.

Thanks so much for the help!

Alison

Yes, there is a place on Las Calates where everything can be moved in case it rains. I think that someone even posted a picture of it in this thread! I will see if I can find it

As far as I know, the shuttle can pick you up from wherever it is that you are staying.

We stayed at Dreams (which was AMAZING!!!!!! I highly recommend it!!!!) and I know that a lot of other girls have too. I didnt do a ton of other research.. but we also thought about staying at the Riu and Crown Palace I think it was..

Here are some links that my travel agent recommended when I was still looking for a hotel

Kat - thanks for the VERY quick response! Wow, this info you are providing is amazing!

I sifted through about 1/2 this forum but 51 pages (at the time) was a heck of a lot to get through and I probably missed the rain contingency photos.  If you do come across them, please feel free to post.

Again, thank you!

um wait...on the bolded parts you guys are talking about two different things?

The boat/catamaran does not pick you up from the hotel. You will either pick that up from the Nuevo Vallarta marina or the marina that is more near downtown PV (depending on what hotel you are staying at).

The shuttle to get guests from the hotel to the marina will pick up at any hotel yes. Also you don't have to get a shuttle. our guests just got in taxis and that was a much cheaper option.

But just in case you stay in Mismaloya region- ask if the catamaran stops to pick up there.  We stayed at Barcelo and took taxis to the marina, but then on the way to LC the damn catamaran stopped to pick up guests at our hotel.  I was like WTF??  I have no idea why/how that worked out, but just in case- wanted to throw it out there for people to ask about!

Thx Rachel - very good info to know about the Mismaloya area.

We are thinking about Barcelo as a resort - how did you/your guests like it?  What kind of vibe was it? (we have a pretty wild group) We read on TripAdvisor people got sick from the food... how was your experience there?  One last question, how far/easy was it to get to the downtown area?

Paradise village in Nuevo Vallarta also has a Marina where the catamaran can pick up guests. We decided to stay here for my sister's wedding because it is more convinient. The guests can just walk down to the marina, instead of having to take taxis to the vallarta adventure office. This way we also ensure no one gets lost in a taxi!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
