We had one too, I couldn't tell you the price though because videography came as part of the package we won through KLK Photography/Blue Sky Videos.

I think before your wedding a lot of brides debate on this topic, I know that I did. The day goes so fast that you miss some of the details so it is good to have it on video to remember those. Especiall the ceremony...I was in my own little world with my hubby up at the altar so it was good to go back and watch the ceremony again.

According to the store I bought the suit,"These lightweight wool suits feature an innovative fabric developed for NASA to keep you feeling cool and comfortable in any climate. With a lining made of Smart Fabric Technology by Outlast, it balances temperature and releases excess heat. In 2-button with center vent. Soft shoulders, fully lined. Pleated trousers are half-lined to the knee. Unfinished bottoms for altering ease. 100% wool. Dry clean. Imported. CLICK ON SWATCHES BELOW TO SEE COLOR CHANGE."

So taking that into consideration, I kept my jacket on til nighttime.  I never felt to hot and I enjoyed the ocean breeze.  Don't get me wrong it was in the 80-90 range with no cloud in the sky but I wasn't sweating.  If the gentlemen perspire alot, then they will be sweating a little throughout the ceremony but once night time happens the weather drops to a comfortable 65-75.  Hope this helps and congratulations.

Thanks! My fiance perked up when he heard something about NASA suits...ha

question:  I was reviewing the "tipping and how much" thread and I saw a lot of folks tipped their photog?  Did everyone else tip photog?  Also, for those of you that used Fernando to do hair/make-up, I'm assuming you tipped him as well?  I've got Kelly & Brad on my "to tip" list, but I hadnt thought of photog......Since Fernando Alejandro Lady Gaga is $220, which I think is a lot, I was going to give him $25 (yikes, am I being cheap)? I'd normally tip 22% for hair, but he's already double what I'd normally pay.  HELP ME LADIES.......

  • 3 weeks later...

Howdy everyone!

I have been surfing around on this amazing website for a while now but I thought I better introduce myself on the (new) Las Caletas thread.  I was lucky enough to look through Andi's photo album from her wedding down at Las Caletas and boy I tell ya, I was hooked! (Thanks again Andi for that!) wink.gif  Soooo, my FI and I booked our day for June 11th, 2010!!  June was a little late in the year for my first choice but the "available dates" were becoming unavailable at the drop of a dime so I had to act quick. I have to say, Las Caletas looks like a very popular place to get hitched and with reason.  From all the pictures to all the reviews I have read, it seems unreal how beautiful and amazing it is.

Anyways, as far as planning, I have sent out my STD's (those message in a bottles with a personal touch...they were really cute!) and am in the process of finding my formal invites to send out so we can get a more solid idea of who is RSVP-ing.  I think we are going to stay at the Vallarta Palace up in Nuevo Vallarta also but that will be determined here within a week or two.

So, that's that.  I will be on here constantly throughout the year buggin' you guys for answers, help and direction.

Thanks for everything and look forward to speaking with y'all here soon!

Cheers!

Megan

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
