Well said Rachel! Everyone told me that it would go by really fast.. but I had no idea HOW fast! We got married, took pictures, ate dinner, had the toasts, then dancing and then BAM! Time to get back on the boat! It was nuts lol

Another option for a local photographer is Eva Sica. My sister booked her a few months back and her prices were very reasonable. She shoots with her brother, so there is always 2 photographers. Her website is photoshootsvallarta.com.

We are having 10 ppl + bride and groom. So there will be 12 of us total. I'm not having anyone stand up w/ me. My Dad will walk me down, but we will be up front by ourselves. I think it's almost $2K extra? What extra time do you get? I guess I need to ask some more questions?

yes, it goes fast! I told Nicole at one point that I didn't want to see her for the rest of the night because I knew she would be telling me to board the boat the next time I saw her! sad.gif I didn't want to board the boat!

Nessa you are getting the barefoot package is that right? On that package your group will not have their own/private boat to and from LC. Meaning that I think you leave when the Rhythms of the Night group does because you ride back with them. If you opt for a package where your group has your own boat, you would stay an additional 30-60 mins? (I think that is about right, maybe I am a bit off on that?)

Then if you have the package with private boat transportation you could add an additional hour onto your reception....the fee is based I think per person? with the additional hour you wouldn't leave LC til around 10:30 or 11...yes that sounds about right because our group didn't get back to the hotel until midnight!

Andi ~ We are getting the gold/paradise package. 2nd from the best. It does come with private transportation. I was originally thinking of just doing the barefoot package, but I didnt like the idea of sharing my dinner w/ all the other ppl that were coming on the island or sharing transportation. I wanted it to be "special". I'm trying to make a deal where the entire party can go over early, but take the boat back with the ROTN crew.... Cause everyone has said they want to spend the day there, but that can get expensive at $50/pp to go over early. I guess maybe it's worth it. I know I'm going over early FOR SURE! Another question for all you brides.....I want to get a cake for "traditional reasons", but did you find yourself taking a lot back with you? With the dessert bar and alcohol, I'm wondering if anyone will even touch the cake (ha). I loved Andi and Rachel's box idea.......I'm trying to find boxes now that I can put my monogram on. Somehow I'm ending up at a deadend. I did find a very reasonable photog since Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Nate and Jillian were booked. I havent heard a whole lot about her, but her name is Eva w/ photoshootsvallarta.com. I hadnt heard anyone mention the island photogs, but I'm sure they are pretty good.

We had 32 people including us, and we made quite a dent in the cake.. but there was some left. They sent about 7 or 8 pieces back with us so we could share it with everyone. We didnt do that lol we ate it all ourselves because it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I would say that it is totally worth getting the cake! Even with all of the food we had people still were happy to eat it

lety01~ Is your sister getting married in October? I asked Eva if she's ever shot at Las Caletas and she indicated that her first wedding will be in October. Makes me a little neverous, but she does have a great portfolio and her prices were SUPER reasonable.

Nessa, the only thing to think about if your entire group goes over for the day (10+ people you said?), is that the only shower that I know of is in the bridal casita, so I am not sure if there would be time for everyone to get ready in there? KWIM? that might be a logistic thing to think about too

There are showers in the massage area too- but I don't know how that would work out. I think it would be awesome to take everyone for the day and worth the expense, but the logistics might make it more difficult.

ETA- now that I think about it, we brought 8 over and I remember another LC bride had a HUGEEEE bridal party. I cant remember her name...shoot. (actually I think her name was Vanessa and went by something like "nessa" too. I kinda laughed at first because your name was so similiar to hers.) Maybe another girl will. Anyways, they all were able to shower and get ready so something had to have been worked out. Since you will only have 12 people it's not that huge of a stretch.

As for cake boxes, I bought mine from another bride, but there's gotta be a seller out there somewhere. ETA more: search for favor boxes. That's what they are and I found a ton. LIke 100 for $20. That's a lot but maybe you can find another bride to split or maybe find a few you can purchase singlely in Michaels or something.

my photog came on a boat- a little fisherman one- around 2pm. Nicole told me that they can go to the nearest city and a boat can be hired to take them there. THey then came back on the catamaran with us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
