Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

Recommended Posts

Hey Ali!!! I have guests with the same worries and concerns. I'll tell you what I have been telling them. I was walking around PV by myself and I was pregnant and I would do it again. I felt very safe there and everyone is so friendly. That is part of the reason we chose PV for our wedding, we felt much safer there than anywhere else we have visited in Mexico, not that I didn't feel safe other places, just more comfortable in PV. Hopefully this is helpful and I tell my guests all the craziness that you hear about down there is closer to the border or someone was doing something they shouldn't have been doing ;) Happy planning!!!

Did any of your guests have concerns about safety in Puerto Vallarta? A few of my relatives and one of my bridesmaids (recently a new mom...she is planning to leave her baby with g-parents in LA) are VERY nervous about the state of Mexico and it's safety.  I'm trying to ease peoples minds about it but I'm having a hard time without getting a few opinions from people who were recently down there.  Any thoughts on your experience and overall feeling while you were down there would be so very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Some of my guests have had the same concerns, including FMIL.  These people are misinformed and easily swayed by media propaganda.  While I have not been there recently, I am providing my guests with information about the safety of Puerto Vallarta in my pre-travel guide (attached).  I got a lot of the information from this article which explains that traveling to Mexico is safer than traveling to Washington D.C.

Thank you so much for sharing this!  My wedding is in a few months and I've been hearing from my guests on how nervous they are getting regarding the violence down there. I've tried to tell them to research, research, research to prove that it is mainly at the border cities but this will be good to physically show them as well.

Thanks so much! This has been on my mind a lot lately, people who are not invited to the wedding are saying stuff to me daily. Even a bartender at a Mexican restaraunt told my fiance and I that we are going to be kidnapped and murdered if we go.

Thanks for all the posts on Mexico and it's safety ladies!

Another question for the past LC brides (i seem to be full of questions these days) ---  Did you do any VIDEO at your wedding/reception?  Did you use the Vallarta Adventures services?  If you did, how good did the footage turn out and did they edit it all together into a piece or just give you raw video?

I'm starting to think that having video from the wedding and reception would be a good thing to look back on for memories and laughs for all the celebration that happens...and there will be plenty of that going on.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
