Hi poorplaces!

I can't speak from experience yet, but I have read in previous posts that some girls gave their WC a little something extra along with their hair/makeup team. I'm not sure what I will be doing yet, but it is definitely something to think about!

We tipped our wedding coordinator with a small amount as we were leaving the boat at the end of the night. I completely forgot to get anything extra for her so I had to borrow some pesos from my mom, but at least it was a small gesture to show how much we appreciated her help! As for the hairdresser, etc, I had my hair and make up done and paid for my mom to have her hair done. My mom gave a small tip as Jamil was leaving, but I didn't. I found it to be extremely expensive to begin with. Well worth the money, but I chose not to tip because of that.

Hope that helps!

I definitely plan on tipping Blanca.  She has already been amazing and so helpful through out the planning process. I will probably hand her a thank you note & gratuity at the end of the evening when we are saying goodbye and thanking her for everything.  I will also leave the hair/makeup team something extra-how much depends a little on how happy I am with the service and end result.  It's a personal preference and don't think anyone expects anything but that kind of makes it an even nicer gesture.

Hi Everyone!!  I have a question regarding the groom going over to Las Caletas early (along with the photographer).  I have read a bunch of posts on here about the groom going early in place of the site visit.  Since we won't be doing a site visit, I asked Blanca about this option and she told me that if we wanted to do that, he would have to be picked up at Boca de Tomatlan, which is 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta and we are staying in Nuevo Vallarta, so almost an hour drive!  Did anyone else that had the groom come over early get that same information?  Was that drive worth it?

Makes me wonder if the groom should just come over with the guests and we will take all of our pictures after the ceremony, which I really don't want to do!

Thanks for any info!

I can't speak from experience but after reading through this thread and speaking to Blanca about this, it's seems that it is the only way for the groom to come over early (he would come with the adventure weddings staff).   That is unless he came over with you in the morning.  That would definitely be an expensive cab ride though.  Maybe his groomsmen could come with him, so the ride wouldn't seem as long. Keep in mind that they have to pay for the boat ride also...I think it is $30/person?  I could be wrong though--just a guess.

I'm having the same issue with daylight as we are getting married in November...but we have decided to keep the tradition and wait until the ceremony to see each other. (One of the only things that is traditional about our wedding! LOL)  There will only be about 10-15 mins of day light after the ceremony, so keep that in mind. Are you doing a trash the dress session?  Maybe those could serve as your beach pictures.   I know it's a tough decision...good luck!

I didn't realize they did video!  We are using them for photography and would love to add video!  Is the $300 fee (for outside photographer) only charged once if using the same company for photo & video?  I hope so! Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi everyone!

We're searching for a videographer and was wondering if anyone would share their videos on here.  We want someone with experience filming Las Caletas.  I've emailed Blanca for some samples of Vallarta Adventure videography, but haven't heard back yet.  Also, wondering if you thought it was worth the extra time/money to have the videographer there while you get ready.  Really appreciate any feedback and info...Thanks in advance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
