Of course this would happen to us! But it sounds like we're okay if we stay in Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta. Just don't go traveling around the state at night... For you girls going there in the next couple months.. keep us updated on how you felt down there. Here is the travel warning:

Okay, yeah I read that too, I emailed my travel agent and she said Puerto Vallarta is fine, it's other areas in the state. So, I think we will be okay, I'm literally taking transportation from airport to Nuevo Vallarta, not leaving the hotel until it's time for Caletas, and that's about it...so we should be fine. I'll be going in March and will keep you all updated on everything. Thanks for looking into it as well! :) I about freaked out!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anyone shopped at the Walmart in Puerto Vallarta for anything? We are thinking of maybe making a run over there before the wedding to pick some stuff up for center pieces, but wasn't sure about selection, cost, safety, etc. Our center pieces were quoted at almost $500 through Vallarta Adventures for some glass vases with limes in them, ouch!

I've walked passed it but not inside. Looked safe from the outside lol.  Spoke to other tourists about it and they said its like a regular Walmart and you can usually find someone that speaks english if you need any help.  And I think they sell beer there too if you want to bring diff brands to the wedding.  Sorry not much help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
