Riu Palace Los Cabos

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody, just got back from Los Cabos and the wedding was beautiful, coud not ask for a more perfect day.

If anybody is getting married at the Riu Palace feel free to message me any questions you might have.

Im just warning you dont trust the safes at the hotel as 3 of our guests had their safes broken into and over a $1000 was stolen in total, so dont bring a lot of cash with you. The hotel would make excuses as to why they would not honor our stolen money, so nobody got their money back even though they tell you its insured.

Ash*

Hi ichimiyuki,

I'm a Sask girl! I just got back from the Riu Palace (married on February 18th!). I had the most beautiful wedding day I could ask for. I rented out the Mexican Terrace and totally recommend it. It was so beautiul and private and we got a lot of compliments on everything!

Daniella was so good to work with! I had read a lot of bad things about her on here that made me nervous, but she really is good at what she does. She works very long hours can do up to 2 weddings per day, and almost everyday atleast 1. I just tried to not annoy her everyday with e-mails while I was in the planning stages and whatnot. She ended up hugging me at the end of the night!

I went to Suzanne Morel's salon. We took a taxi van for the 7 of us (including mothers) and it cost about $20. It only took 5 minutes or so to get there. I totally recommend the salon. I am a hairdresser and am very picky and I loved everyone's hair and makeup. They are very concerned with whether or not you're happy with it and ask you numerous times what they can change. My stylist got mine dead on and I loved it!

I brought down some fan favors and programs for the chairs at the ceremony. I also made some favor bags for the reception and that was all that I took. Where will you be having your reception? We booked the Mexican Terrace as a private event ($500) - and everyone complimented us over and over again. It overlooks the Beach and you can see the arches in the background. It's private and beautiful. We did our first dance out there, and the dance with our parents. Afterwards Daniella left us alone (we had it from 8-11) and we had supper and the cakecutting all done by 9:30. We had a dance out there until 11. It was a lot of fun. I'm going to post my review later today.

Lastly, yes I did pay more for flowers. I wanted roses, calla lilies, and a few orchids. I only had to pay for the orchids, because the others were included in my package. I also had to pay for the bridesmaids bouquets and I got a few fresh flowers for our cake.

Any other questions, feel free to message me. Or e-mail jannel19@hotmail.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
