Hi Kashmira! Congrats on your wedding! I'm glad it went well despite the Hilton problems. I'm sorry to hear about the shady cost issues. I'm interested to hear about your Dad resolved the bill.

It was the FIREWORKS! They were awesome - perfectly timed for us! The sort of funny thing was that from where they were being set off on the beach it was right over our wedding and everyone had a great view - however all the smoke from the fireworks ended up blowing right into the the poor people at the other event however (the one who paid for the fireworks).

By the way, this was the other event at our hotel... the one who paid for and provided our amazing fireworks... hee hee hee

So it turns out Emeline never put the $3500 limit into our contract. I spoke to my dad and I sent him my email from when I requested the limit in writing. I then emailed Emeline today the following email and am waiting on her reply...

 

The wedding was the best day ever and everything was perfect but I am really annoyed that I am still dealing with this sh*t. I have to say while the location and the food and everything was as beautiful & delicious as can be I would not recommend the Hilton to another bride just because it is like a constant battle to get them to not overcharge you every step of the way...

 

Maybe I should put that at the top of my post for future brides...

Hi Emeline,

 

I just got back into town today and was very surprised and unhappy to hear that the bar tab went over $1000 above our agreed upon limit and we were not notified and the bar was not shut down. Below I have included the email where we first discussed this. As written below there was to be a $3500 limit set as well as the opportunity for one of our guests to review the receipts as needed. At no time in the weeks that followed did I ever change this limit or cancel my request to have this amount increased or changed.

 

Please let me know how the Hilton plans on resolving this issue.

Yeah, they are really irritating. It's a shame because like I said the actual wedding was perfect!

I just wanted to let you know that I had emailed Emeline about the bar tab on Monday. When I hadn't heard back form her by Wednesday I re-sent my email with a note that I was awaiting her reply. She emailed me back (and claimed to have not received the first email) and referred me to their financial department because she was leaving town for the rest of the month.

 

I emailed the head of the financial department yesterday and they responded today that they will refund is the $$ that was above the set limit! YAY! So finally I can say that everything is resolved!

Yay Kash! I haven't been on here in a while, so I haven't seen your pics yet. I am going to search the forum for them in a second!

 

Funny what you said about Maye. She was great for me also, but I had the same issue with her. There were a few things we agreed she would supply (votives), and I never double checked with her (I just assumed she remembered). Well no votives were on the table. So there were just little tea lights all alone in front of each place setting. Luckily there was no wind, so it all worked out and looked great.

 

DJ Ricardo is the best, isn't he! We were SOO pleased with him as well!!

 

Can't wait to see the wedding pics. I also want to see honeymoon pics!!!
