Our Photographer is from Jamaica

After a great deal of research on this forum and the Internet I found Diana Campbell and her son Richard.

There website is: Negril Wedding Photographers, Montego Wedding Photography, Jamaica Wedding Photographer, Jamaica Weddings, Photojournalism. Her pictures are beautiful, her prices very reasonable. Diana has been used by other brides on this forum and they have been very happy with her work.

On a personal note, Diana has been extremely helpful with everything, from the sand ceremony to the TTD session site, to recommended excursion. It helps to have someone familiar with the area to assist with picking locations. We will be going to Negril (the cliffs) and to Mayfield Falls for the TTD session. Diana has become more than just our photographer she has become a friend and a very helpful advisor/wedding planner.

Diana has kept contact through email and by phone, she has been supportive when needed and provided me with the assurance required when using a photographer off the internet. I look forward to meeting her in person in just 7 days to work out the final details.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to pm me. I will post our pictures as soon as we get home December 5 or 6th.

Happy planning everyone

Dea

Can't wait to see your pics!! I am also getting married at the Grand Palladium and using Diana Campbell for my photographer. Been checking everyday since December 6 for your review. I hope everything went well.

that looks great! the reason we chose a photographer who was from the states is because in case anything goes wrong, both us and them will be in the same country after the wedding. i heard that on another site and thought it was good to stick by. we ended up looking in the knot's magazine and found someone who got an award (Heather Parker) and then looked her up on Yelp. She has recently posted another wedding Moon Dance Cliffs / Moondance Villas Weddings and we follow the blog on the site which has a lot of idea boards and stuff.

Really most photographers can't compete with the local vendors but honestly I remember when i was trying to book for my 07' DW there were very few talented local photogs. Therefore I chose to fly in my own DW photographer and I'm very thankful I did so after seeing the resort's photographers work and being disappointed.

Just like you said, do your homework and check it out. Check out their blogs, websites, google ads, yelp basically anything with their name on it. These are going to be some of your most treasured photos for years to come! i know there are some photographers still wishing to build their portfolio in the DW area and by all means would photograph for travel fees. But i will say in most cases you do get what you pay for when it comes to photography.

Can't wait to see your photos from Diana - i'm sure they'll be wonderful!

Hi

Sorry it took so long to post this, the photographer was fabulous, Diana and Richard spent the entire day with us for our wedding and then came back two days later CD of pictures in hand (as per our request) to do the TTD session. In total there are over 1000 photos, we have posted a few of our favorites.

Diana and Richard took the time to walk the resort to find the best place for pictures, she also allowed us to show her some of our favorite spots. The TTD session was done at Mayfield falls, I highly recommend this - it is very natural, not a lot of tourists which meant we did not have to wait for people to get out of the photos. The resort photographer was terrible and a cheat. The package we purchased through the hotel provided for 8 - 5 x 7 photos, he gave us 8 - 4 x 6 photos printed on a cheap printer. The photos have lines going through them and are pixelated.

The TTD photos show pictures of us going to a local school to drop off school supplies. Instead of shower gifts we asked for school supplies to give to the schools in Jamaica. We took down over 150 pounds of school supplies - to put this into context this was two and a half large suitcases full of supplies. What we did not drop off Diana and Richard dropped off for us.

I highly recommend Diana and Richard I can't say enough about the service or the photos or the friends I have of them. Someone here asked for a price - Each package is different so I suggest you contact them directly, I can tell you that we never could have gotten the service we did from any other photographer for the price they charged us. We also had all the photos in hand before we left Jamaica.

Pictures can be seen on our facebook account here is the link to our wedding photos:

To add to the day Diana provided us with the Sand for the sand ceremony and she provided us with all the flower you see lining the path to the gazebo - this was an entire green garbage bag full.

If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
