Hello all!! My hubby & I are are planning an impromptu trip to New Orleans & would love some suggestions on nice places to stay (preferably within walking distance to say the French Quarter, etc.) as well as some must do/must sees. We don't have a day set in stone yet, but we are trying to avoid crowds, so obviously no Mardi Gras or other festivals. New Orleans is on our "bucket list", so we are excited!! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!! smile03.gif

Hi! I"m from New Orleans and I know you would love a trip here. I think that the website New Orleans Online - The City of New Orleans' Official Tourism Web Site would be very useful to you because I even use it sometimes to find out what is going on in the city! One thing I do know is you won't leave this city hungry :) The New Orleans Menu By Tom Fitzmorris is a fun website to go to also to help you out where to eat. It list the top 200 places to eat here! I've stayed at three hotels and all were very nice. I've stayed at Harrah's, the W hotel, and the Royal Sonesta. These are all centrally located and will be close to everything.

Me and my fiance are planning to elope in Maui....do you have any suggestions/pictures from your weddinghuh.gif

Thanks and let me know if you have any questions about NOLA!!

When we travel to New Orleans, we like staying at the Royal Sonesta. Nice hotel and we never drive anywhere until we go home!

You MUST eat at Mother's, Acme Oyster House, I thinking its just not coming to me.... :)

You MUST drink a hand grenade and a hurricane

There is a fun jazz club on Bourbon but again all names have gone from me....

I hope this helps!

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. We are currently looking at the W, so I'm glad to hear that someone has stayed there & recommends it. Ashley, as far as Maui, you will never regret your decision to marry in Maui - it's amazing!! We got married on the grounds of our resort, Aston Kaanapali Shores, & it was everything we had imagined it would be & more. I hired a wedding coordinator at Maui Island Wedding by The Salon , & she took care of everything (flowers, cake, minister, paperwork, luau for the reception, photography, etc.) As far as pictures, I'm on my work computer, so no pics, but if I remember this evening, I will attempt (lol) to load some for you. Thanks again ladies for your New Orleans advice, I truly appreciate it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
