Tell me how to give our centerpieces away!

So our pre-wedding AHR is next Saturday and I have to finalize with the DJ plans to give away the centerpieces. We've narrowed it down to two options....or 3 if you really want to take my fiance's suggestion for a chugging contest seriously.

#1. trivia quiz about us (by table) This is only for his side of the family and I haven't even met many of them so I was going to put a short story about us by the guest book and it would contain the answers to the questions.

#2 tell each table to assign captains. The captains are then responsible for getting the table guests up to dance. In the end, it's the captain who takes home the centerpiece.

If you've got another good idea that will be entertaining and guests will like, throw it at me!

Oh yeah, It's vases with rocks/shells in the bottom, filled with water and flowers then a floating candle on top. I think my FMIL also picked up some smaller vases to do this with too. I know it's not a great centerpiece to take home but this is taking place in Canada and we live in the states - we can't take them home and I know my in-laws don't want all of them.

Well, this is how we are giving ours away. Whoever's birthday is closest to our wedding date will take home the centerpiece. We thought it would be a fun way for our guests to interact and it is a totally fair way to give them away.

I can't take credit for the idea though, it was my FMIL that thought of it.

Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
