Hi, I was looking at Beaches too, but for in the Bahamas. And now booking with the Riu. I also found there were to many restrictions and hidden costs. What I love about the Riu is you dont have to pay for your wedding costs until you get to the resort. So we get to see what we are getting before the money is put down. The only thing I am not sure about is the photographer. I dont like the pricelist they gave me and I havent seen the work from prev. weddings. But other than that, I am so excited. I cant wait. I have heard so many good things about the Riu chain. Your wedding will be amazing. Cant wait to hear how it goes. :) Happy sleeping.

Congrats on making a decision that is right for you.

I am also going to be a Riu Ocho Rios Bride. I went through it all too, all the research. We were booked at a Rose Hall resort that just wasn't up to our standards for the price we were paying, it was too much for too little and we also checked out Trip Advisor and saw pictures of the resort and the beach and the rooms were very mediocre not very pleasing to the eye. Then we had also decided on trying to do Beaches as well since we needed a family friendly resort but it was not in our price range either. We are very satisfied w/ the Riu so far, loved the pictures on Trip Advisor, and also like that we are able to pay for the wedding and other things upon our arrival (after all what you see is what you get). We also like their free package and the options available to us at the resort.

~Hope you have a beautiful wedding day and a wonderful time

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
