Hi Heather, could you let me know who you booked the sunset cruise with?

i went to a destination wedding in 2006 at Beaches Negril and the whole trip was amazing. I especially loved the beach ceremony (which is the reason I want one) and the bride and groom brought everyone on a glass bottom boat ride. That was great! I definitely want to set something up similar to that. Kind of a little thank you for coming.

My guests love the whole DW, I was the first to do one so everyone was a little hesitant but everyone loved it!

Top few:

1) it was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever been to _ Thank Rev Marco Arechiga (info on him in the cabo forum)

2) They LOVED the resort and want to go back

3) They loved the pashmina faovrs and used them the entire rest of the trip!

4) Lots of speeches, we did open mic at the welcome dinner, thankfully our guests kept it short a sweet but everyone enjoyed hearing about E and I in so many different ways.

The most popular comment was what a perfect size the resort was with all our needs met. Loved the light hearted no stress approach to our wedding... lots of laughing.

The raves also included the cups, the key card holders, and they were thankful for the prgram fans because the breeze completely died that evening after the storm. Beach ceremony and pictures got big raves.

Dominika, Heather hasn't answered your question yet, but I've been on the Sunrider cruises before and had a blast each time, however, we went snorkeling instead of the sunset cruise. They give you all the drinks you want and cook a great lunch for you while your snorkeling. We plan to take our guests in December. I emailed them from their website and they are willing to negotiate the prices.

I think our guests will remember the wedding and ceremony in general, as it was on the beach and no one had ever been to a destination wedding before. But the things we got the most comments on were the excursion we treated our guests to 2 days before the wedding - we went on the Cool Runnings catamaran trip that included a stop at Dunn's River Falls. Everyone told us how much fun they had! The second thing that wowed people was the OOT bags, no one was expecting them and they were totally blown away when we gave them out. The pashminas for the ladies and the disposable underwater cameras were the biggest hits and what people got the most use out of. The cameras especially came in handy when we went to the falls. People even started to tear up a bit when they read the welcome letter! It was terrible bringing all the stuff with me for the OOT bags but totally worth it when we saw everyone's reactions.

My MIL keeps raving about how nice it was to be on an adult only resort lol. It's the last thing I would expect her to say as a teacher but she just kept saying over and over how much she loved that!

Everyone else loved the small, intimate setting and the special extras our resort provided.

Oh, and our customized T-shirts-they were a huge hit. People around the resort were stopping our whole party the entire stay to comment about them.

I'd say that people are still talking about how much fun it was that we all got to go on vacation together! People have told us that was the best vacation they've had in a long time. And they especially loved being at an all-inclusive resort-- didn't have to worry about extra expenses once they got there.

Re: the wedding- people loved our rain location--we were supposed to get married at a garden gazebo outside but it rained earlier that day so they moved us to the spa area, which was really elegant with columns and the like. And people really loved that we had a steel drum band!

I must agree with most of the other girls, in that my guests raved about the overall experience of the DW. Most of my guests would have never endured the 10 hour plane ride to Maui if not for my wedding. Once they arrived in Maui & say how amazing it was, they were so glad that we had planned our wedding there & made them endure that 10 hour plane ride. Another thing that everyone still talks about is our reception, which was a luau - soooo much fun. I def think that just the experience of the whole DW will be memoriable for all of your guests - it's an experience not to be forgotten. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
