Flowers in Dominican! Please help!

Recommended Posts

I am planning a destination wedding in the DR and just found out that not all flowers are available at destination locations. Does anyone have a list of available flowers in the DR? If time of year is a factor, I am planning for the wedding to be in December of 2010.

Also, and info on how much cost varies by flower?

Please help ASAP! Thank you!!!!

are you getting married at a resort? if so, you could contact the WC down there and see if she can provide you with a list of the available flowers. if you're worried about a specific flower being available you could also look into real touch bouquets and bringing them down with you so you know exactly what it will look like!

I'm not sure what resort you are getting married at, but I got married at the RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata & they just gave me a photo album of a bunch of pictures of past brides and I had to chose from their bouquets. It was pretty easy for me as I wasn't too picky! I just knew I wanted orange & white...this is what I ended up with. My flowers were free and I paid $35 for my MOH's bouquet.

I agree with JandJ. If you want something specific, you should maybe bring your own. Otherwise, my experience was similar to Amanda's. They give you a photobook with different arrangements, and you pick the flowers and colours from there. My bouquet was $40 I think. I had brought silk flowers, but the bouquet was so reasonably priced I couldn't refuse. :P

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
