Confused about AHR Invitiation wording?? Help!!

Recommended Posts

We are having a small AHR when we return back home. I am doing my own invites but I am really confused with the wording for them? Do we put that we will be married on such date or were married on such date since by the time the party comes, we will already be married. What did you say on your invites?? Looking for some ideas? Help!!

I guess I didn't even plan to put anything about the wedding date. My plan is to send Save the Dates with our wedding website that has all the info on both the wedding and the AHR. I'm think the AHR invite will just say "join us for a wedding reception". Good luck! ~ Be sure to post a picture when you get them completed! =)

I did luggage tag invites, two luggage tags tied together with ribbon. The first had only info for the wedding, the second, said something like, "Unable to eat, drink and be married with us? Please join us for a Wedding Celebration BBQ....." It had that info on that tag. The people who can come to the wedding are still coming to the AHR. I didn't want to call it a reception because we are just doing a party with lots of alcohol and a BBQ at our house.

we put the date and resort name on the front of the invite then on the other side we put michelle and jon are jetting off to mexico to be wed and would like to invite you to their mexican siesta to celebrate their marriage on ?? then at the bottom the party starts from ??

with being the ahr i think its best to be more relaxed with the wording.i dont think there is any right or wrong?

Hmmm... I didn't think about how my AHR invites should read, but I'm not sending them out till after our wedding next October because the AHR won't be till Spring 2011. I think I might say something like, "Please join us in celebrating our recent marriage." I won't put anything on their about the wedding date.

I came across this yesterday and wrote it down. I cannot remember what site i found it on, but it's cute for an AHR.

Now they are back from their fun in the sun

and promised forever to live their lives as one

We invite you to celebrate the marriage of ___ and ___

and then the details...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
