Hand addressing invites?

Recommended Posts

I read somewhere that's it's etiquette to hand address wedding invites. This doesn't completely appeal to me since i'll have to do it alone and will get annoyed when they don't look perfect. At the same time, I want them to know I put personal effort into them. What are you guys doing?

I printed addresses out in a nice font on clear labels, but on the invite I wrote the guest name. I don't have wonderful handwriting and I felt the same way as you did but when I started I didn't worry to much. Here is a pic of mine (I also used a nice pen which helped)

Those are really cute! We did those for our STDs but I had the names typed too. Guess I should just bite the bullet for the real invites. Haha.

I seriously debated this for a looong time...but finally decided to print out address labels. I know that "technically" this wasn't the proper thing to do, but I honestly couldn't stand thinking about it anymore, and needed to get the invites out. I know that taking the time to write the address is definitley a nice personal touch, but I'm sure my guests don't even remember...(hopefully!!) ( =

I had the invitation company print addresses on our envelopes. Best few dollars I've spent so far on the wedding, I think. My handwriting is terrible, and I can do a bit of calligraphy but it would have taken forever to do that right and it seemed easier than printing them on the computer myself (although that would have been my second choice). This way I was able to pop them right in the mail the day after I got them, which was nice. Honestly, I doubt anyone in this day and age will be offended that I didn't handwrite out their names.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
