Save the date etiquette help!

Recommended Posts

We decided to skip Save the Dates (since we sent out our actual invitations about 8 months ahead), but we felt it important to include pricing-specifics, in light of the state of the economy. We included a separate sheet with resort and accomodation information (and price approximations for the least-expensive room level for each of the all-inclusive resorts we listed), so that no one felt misled, and could make an informed decision when they sent back their RSVP (since we need to know "hard" numbers, so we can plan OOT bags, excursions, etc., accordingly).

None of our guests were offended that we included pricing; actually, we got thank yous and compliments from people since they didn't have to go out of their way to look it up or log onto the computer whatsoever -- everything was right there and they could decide whether or not it was possible with their current budget situation!

Good Luck and do what works best for you..... Maybe don't include pricing on the STDs, but more broad price ranges with your actual invitations?

We just ordered our save the dates this past weekend and had the same debate. What we did was include the website that the TA/WC set up for us. I figured if they were interested, they would check out the site that has the price but also lists all the amenties and selling points of the resort. We also have print outs and a PDF we will either mail or email to people.

That is why we chose not to make a website.  Most of our guests coming have a computer but wouldn't regularily check our wedding site.  We decided rather to send out a postcard with all the travel agent information, resort information and what not.  We plan on sending out a pre travel brochure with all the other necessary information and other good things to know, such as things about the airport, what to pack ect.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
