the prices everyone put on their website--were they just for a basic room? or did you include info on upgrade? also, did you clarify that they prices were only available through your TA and/or had a specific date they were valid for? i don't want to put too much pressure on my guests.... but at the same time if i get a great deal for them i don't want them to miss out on it!

Our STD led guests to our website and TA. They can contact the TA for prices. In our STD letter (we did only email STDs) we noted that we secured a group rate and room block. Everyone knows that a trip for a destination wedding will involve a bit of $$$. I went to a wedding in Houston from Chicago and spent $1000 so for 2 days, so either way they should know that some money is involved.

I think the problem with putting pricing on the STD, besides the word clutter, is that the prices change. Usually, a TA will only be able to secure a rate for a short period of time and then afterwards it is no longer available, hence making any information on the STD (or even the website for that matter) inaccurate. Since people may also choose to make their own travel/accomodation arrangements seperately, I would just put the website URL on the STD and then update your website accordingly.

I too agree the website is the best place for details on the rates. I think the more information you can put on there to help them make their decision (like info re: upgrades, etc), the better. People will appreciate that you have made the effort to reduce their expenses.

However, if you're worried about deals expiring, etc., maybe you can add a brief footnote or other language to the STD encouraging guests to visit the website right away for limited offers.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
