Negril Honeymoon Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hi again! I've been searching for a couple months for the perfect honeymoon resort/villa/etc in Negril. We want something on the beach, and we want to upgrade to a beachfront room that we can walk out onto the sand if we want. Does anyone have any recommendations? I found the most perfect place but it's $5000 for the week, just for the hotel! yikes!

Suggestions pllllease?!

Basically having a room right on the sand is the most expensive room - that's what everyone wants so the price is at a premium. Couple Swept Away & Sandals Negril have beachfront rooms, the Rius are all set back, Sunset at the Palms is across the street, Couples negril are "kitty corner " to the beach-not really direct access from the rooms.

For an inexpensive property Grand Pineapple has a few rooms that are really close to the beach, a bitty patch of grass between you & the beach.

Good luck

We thought about that also but a lot of the very nice resorts in NEgril on the beach are pretty expensive.

So, we decided to get married at Negril and spend another 3 days at the beaches resort, and we will go to couples tower isle in ocho rios for our honeymoon.

The beaches in NEgril are nicer but there is much more to do in ochorios. At couples resorts, all activities are included- scuba diving and snorkeling, trips to dunns river falls, shopping,, horseback riding catamaran cruise, au naturel island , free massage for honeymooners etc. We had a choice between couples and sandals at dunns river falls but chose couples because they offer more.

The cost for 6 nights was $ 2,300.

Depends on what you like though, my FI was a little bummed out as he prefers NEgril beaches but I persuaded him ;-)

I stayed at the RIU in Negril and they had rooms looking out to the beach, also along the cove there were a couple of other hotels that looked nice but not sure what they were. We had a great view without being beachfront though-we loved sitting on our balcony.

What about a smaller resort? I stayed at Country Country resort last year. All the rooms are colorful little cottages, they have beach front or garden rooms, the garden is really pretty and quiter then beach front. Plus, they have fruit trees all over the property and you can eat fresh mangos and coconuts for free. We choose half board (just breakfast included--giant and yummy food) because Negril's beachfront is happening, there are tons of places to eat and hang out--the food is well priced, and you can just walk up and down the beach---no need for a taxi. It's nice to explore--AI's can get old. Then there is the cliff side, we went to dinner there but didn't stay at the resorts ( you do need a taxi to go cliffside). They are really beautiful, no beach but the water is really calm, you can just jump in or climb down the built in ladders. We might go back after our wedding in Montego Bay--and stay half the week cliff side then beach side for the rest of the week. Hope this helps. Country Country is just great, check them out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
