Its perfect!

I hope someone can answer this question for me. Im bringing a photographer with me from home, and he was wondering if he will need a working Visa to take pictures there, apparently they do in Mexico.

I wouldn't think they would need a working visa unless they will be doing photographs from a resident of Jamaica.  If they are only coming to do your pictures then Im pretty sure you dont need one as they will be accepting payment from you only and not technically making an income from Jamaican people.

Thanks JayKay - it seems really no resort is perfect... it's tough to decide which can meet most of your wishes! thanks, Sarah

Hi FutureKeese22,

I received a PDF file from Chandlyn for the flowers via Tai Flora which I have been looking through ( I can send you a copy if you would like..just PM me your email address).  Also after 2 weeks of sending an email to Tia Flora...I have heard nothing.  I do plan to check out Jan's flowers and see what they are offering.  OMG..congrats on finding and purchasing your wedding dress...!!  I'm still looking and hope to narrow down my search by late June.  The tulle I will be bringing myself as I'm sure it will be cheaper, and I'm going to Micheal's this weekend to see what I could find in terms of silk flowers.

FutureKeese22, LOVE that dress! It's gorgeous!! I can't wait to go shopping with my mum and maid of honor and try stuff on . . . I think I have my heart set on one already, but that won't stop me from trying a bazillion of them on anyway just to make sure!!

Hi Natalie-congrats on your recent nuptials!! Great photos! I am considering this hotel for July 2013. Do you know what the beach ceremony site is like? Also I am reading mixed reviews on the beach in general-is it decent?? We'd also like to have dinner after the ceremony on the beach - do you know if that is a possibility at GBP? Thanks so much, Sarah!

Hi Sarah...I didn't see any beach ceremonies while I was there...The gazebo was the popular choice...it was beautiful! Not sure about reception dinner on the beach...it wasn't a choice for us...however we did have a romantic dinner for 2 on the beach...which was awesome:) And I thought the beach was amazing...you just have to walk a bit more to the left...I loved every part of my wedding and am so happy I chose this resort!!

One thing that has really bothered me lately is the rise in vendor fee for photographers to $800 if we're not using Digipix. I mentioned this to my travel agent the other day and she was very surprised and said she was going to mention it to the tour operators as she thought they may not be impressed by such a restrictive policy. I read on another thread that Misha Earle covered the vendor fee and day passes required in her fee - but the vendor fee for the hotel being mentioned was $100, not $800, so I'm not sure she'd be quite as eager to do that for GBPJ brides. I know this change is fairly recent, but I'll be interested to see how this pans out - whether more brides will start using Digipix or whether people will book elsewhere. I know for me, photos are HUGE and I want a photographer that is more photojournalistic than pose-y.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
