Everything went perfect...it was so beautiful at the gazebo...Chandlyn and Donnalee are the sweetest and so wonderful. I had my make up and hair done by the spa...I went in with no pictures and they worked their magic! I was so soooo happy with the end result!! We hired the steel drum band and had them play while I walked down...it was so awesome! We had the reception dinner at The Grill..I was able to customize my own menu which was delicious and great! After dinner we all just hung out at the lobby bar then off to the disco..I didn't rent the gazebo and glad I didn't...far away from washrooms and bar..we all had a blast dancing the night away at the disco:) We hired Merrick Cousley for our photographer and he is AMAZING!!!! I can't wait to see the pictures...I highly recommend him!! Free pictures from the resort are just ok..I will post some below. Any questions feel free to ask...thought I would keep this review short and sweet:) Don't stress the small stuff..relax and enjoy every moment:)

Absolutely lovely!

The flowers got me thinking... in the packages the flowers are suppose to be included... I assume the selection is not great. If you want to upgrade your bouquet with their florist will they at least give you a better rate? ( based on  the fact that flowers are part of the package)

Also seems like the photographers the hotel uses are not a hit. Any idea how much the pacakges start if you go through the hotel and how much a photographer from Merrick Cousley would cost instead?  Their pictures seem great. Hopefully they are affordable.

Have a good weekend!

I think the hotel must of recently switched which photographer they use.  I emailed them a few weeks back and they were very helpful with the type of packages that they can offer, and very reasonably priced also.  I thought the price might reflect the quality of their photos, but after being directed to their facebook page, they do offer some really lovely pictures.  Take a look yourself.

Hope that helps a little.

I can't answer the flower question as I went with the free bouquet provided from the resort.  The selection for free ones was fairly limited so if you really care about your flowers then I would say you would want to choose something different from the florist.

As to photographers from the resort, their pictures were okay, not great and there customer service skills and personal skills were absolutely horrible.  We picked the free 5 pictures in the wedding package.  I asked them about how much it would cost to have the remaining photos on a disc and it was going to be $950 to have 95 photos on a disc ($10 per picture!!)  Also, we only had them for the ceremony so I dont know how well their photos of anything else would be.

We went with Merrick Cousley and couldn't be happier with our decision.  We booked him in early 2011 and at that time we payed about $1500 for all day coverge and all our pictures on a disc.  I'm not sure about his current pricing, it would be best to email him for current pricing.  I highly recommend him.

I also highly recommend Merrick:) He was absolutely fantastic! I paid about $2000....that included 6 hours wedding day and TTD the next day..and TTD was so much fun...the best day!! Pics are going to be amazing! Email Merrrick...he is quick to reply and is booking up. Jaykay said it all regarding the hotel photographers...not very good at all.

Hey. Justyn and I are getting married at the gbp nov 27th 2012. I asked about this and was told yes for 300USD.
I'm new at this. I was replying to the av equipment question as we will be having a brief slide show shown at our reception during dinner.

Hello ladies! I've just finished reading all 350 pages of this thread and am so thrilled to have found all this information! Ha, when I first started reading I had no idea what OOT bags were . . . I have my heart set on booking this resort for my June 2013 wedding. I'm meeting with the travel agent next week to see what prices are like. I'm planning on contacting Chandlyn shortly to see what kind of openings there are for next June. I feel a bit silly doing it so far in advance, but from what I've read, it doesn't seem that unusual to get things going this early.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
