I'm really hoping that everything comes together soon!! I've already changed my date once, but have been told I am confirmed for December 07. The unsettling thing is that no one from the resort has contacted me, or asked me for a deposit for the Piscis private venue, even though my TA says it's booked for me. I've emailed the resort numerous times trying to confirm with them, but they seem unable to tell me. I don't know what's going on...but, I'm hoping it works itself out, because I am 4 weeks in just trying to confirm a date and a venue and travel arrangements for guest, and don't really have any solid confirmation of anything... :-S

I would suggest emailing Stephany (info below).  She's pretty good at getting back to emails, typically in a day or two.  Donna Lee is awful at responding.  Or call the wedding office directly.  The only problem is that you won't have the confirmation in writing.

Thanks...I have been in contact with Stephany...and as a result of negligence on behalf of my TA and possibly the WC's at GBPJ, I am likely going to be canceling everything - which shouldn't be hard since no one bothered to confirm anything with me - and starting over from scratch...and possibly looking at a different resort entirely. :-(

I just want to make sure I can bring sky lanterns and sparklers in a suitcase (to be stored under the plane) and I don't have to worry about anything right? I would rather not ship to Jamaica.
I have the same question about the sky lanterns. Did you find out at all?

Hi

I have looked this up as well, even though Canadian/US customs says it ok, cause a wireless sky lanterns fuel cell is wax, therefore just like a candle. I can't seem to get information from Jamaician customs.

I have seen them in videos used at wedding at GBPJ but not sure how they got them there?

Maybe call your carrier that is taking you to Jamaica?

The resort Videorapher's work makes me want to vomit! (Um.. no offence if you're the bride in thier sample video :) ) For Video Service the cost will be $440 with tax included (Ceremony and Session) Sample of Our Video
Elite Media concepts seem fantastic. They turn your wedding into a mini movie. Expensive of course! Plus the 800 vendor fee. (BLAH). I'm hoping to get this for a wedding present from our parents! "We specialize in short-form wedding films which means we really focus on making you an amazing "movie-like" production that you'll actually want to watch for years after your wedding day. It's important to note that we aren't a traditional videography service. We don't give you a long, boring 2-3 hour wedding video. Instead we use real cinema tools in our filming and real story-telling techniques in our editing to make your film unique to your wedding. I really would love for you to see what a final product looks like so here are some links to my recent feature films: http://elitemediaconcepts.com/blog/farah-thomas-fly-like-an-eagle-rose-hall-great-house/ Thanks so much for your interest in our services. I am available for your Wedding on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Here is a link to our packages: http://app.shootq.com/public/~2ccec2/pricing/80c7f7c2-529e-11e2-a593-aa0000f29611 You can build your own package here and when you're done, it will send us all the info so we can provide an accurate quote for you based on the items you want."
Thank you so much! Saw the video and really not satisfied with the quality!!! It helped me make a decision pretty fast!

I called my carrier today (westjet) they told that sparklers ar okay as long as you tell them and they are in checked baggage. They can refuse them if you don't tell them.

Also Westjet allows Sky Lanterns as long as the fuel cell is wax and does not have a restricted fuel in it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
