I'm not sure where you are from but I was able to use it to change my name on everything (I live in Alberta, Canada).

It is a really funny shape, really long and skinny so everyone I gave it to just assumed it was my official marriage license as most people have never seen a Jamaican marriage certificate and  would not have a clue what the official mariage license looks like.

I sent Chandlyn an email asking her if I had to pay the $800.00 vendor's fee, since I had my wedding booked from months ago. She stated that the new policy comes into effect August 2012. She mentioned nothing about me being exempt from the fee. I don't think this is fair, because the no vendor fee was one of the reasons why I choose this hotel. I think it's so unfair for brides who had their wedding booked under their old policy to have to pay this ridiculous amount of money. It's so absurd! censored.gif

I wanted my daughter in the room beside me and that didn't happen. And our first two rooms kept flooding, my husband called the manager up to the room and we were moved the next day. Also we payed for an upgraded room and didn't recieve it! Chandlyn and Donnalee did an amazing job, food was excellant, weather was great I had rented the Pisces restaurant, it was the best right beside the ocean, the manager of that restaurant did an amazing job so did the dj and all of the workers. Can't stress enough how amazing Devon the photographer was! And very reasonable priced! If you have any questions just ask! Angela

Hi Angela - congrats on your wedding! It looked amazing. Can I ask - how much did they charge you to rent Pisces, and was there a min/max # of guests? Did you pay extra for the DJ? Thanks! Sarah

I think the brides that have their date booked before August of 2012 should NOT have  to pay this fee. My friend who is our photographer thinks it is ridiculous and doesn't think we will have to pay as she is a friend and paying guest. They are making so much money off of everyone staying at the resort as well as whatever the bride and groom choose for their wedding/night.

I booked my wedding in November I believe, and I emailed about the vendor fee...explaining that my photog is bringing a guest, and they will be staying a week, therfore being paying guests. The only thing they replied with is "friends and family may take pictures"....sooo....bottom line, when I get there, my photographer is one of my "cousins" Its just ridiculous. Also, I booked my wedding at 3pm, and the alloted times for weddings now are only 10am-1pm or something (they sent me new contract), and so i made sure to tell them i booked for 3, and they said they would make an exception for me.

I chose the free wedding package, and they still need a 25% deposit...thats fine, Im just not sure what they mean by deposit if its free.....is it the minister fees?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
