Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

We had all of our a la cartes pre booked by the resort.  They only pre booked us that were staying in the Royal Golden rooms, and the others had to book theirs for when they got there.  I really didn't like having ours pre booked because we always ate at like 6pm which was a bit to early.  And we were all together as a group for all of the ones that were booked.  I know the people that didnt have theirs prebooked they had a hard time even booking any ala carte once they got to the resort unless they wanted to eat at 10pm.  I would say email them a few weeks in advance and ask to pre book your ala cartes.

I was under the impression that you could e-mail the reservation staff a week prior to arriving to book your a la carte meals, but some of my guests have been told that you have to book when you get there and that you cannot book more than one meal at a time. It just doesn't sound right to me... and I have had close family stay at other Gran Bahia resorts where this was not the case.
What were your experiences, or what have you been told?
Help!

Can anyone post a picture of what their Dad wore for the wedding? My Dad is stressing about it and I really don't know what to put him in. The groom will be wearing a tan suit. The groomsmen will be wearing tan pants and white shirts. Should my Dad be wearing something similar to the groom or groomsmen? Help! Opinions/suggestions/pictures wanted!

My dad wore tan pants with a purple shirt.  He chose the purple shirt because of the color of dress my mom was wearing and because both of them walked me down the aisle they had to kind of match somewhat.  Hope that helps.

Hi Ladies...Well, I just returned from having the best wedding I could of ever asked for! Everything went perfect...it was so beautiful at the gazebo...Chandlyn and Donnalee are the sweetest and so wonderful. I had my make up and hair done by the spa...I went in with no pictures and they worked their magic! I was so soooo happy with the end result!! We hired the steel drum band and had them play while I walked down...it was so awesome! We had the reception dinner at The Grill..I was able to customize my own menu which was delicious and great! After dinner we all just hung out at the lobby bar then off to the disco..I didn't rent the gazebo and glad I didn't...far away from washrooms and bar..we all had a blast dancing the night away at the disco:) We hired Merrick Cousley for our photographer and he is AMAZING!!!! I can't wait to see the pictures...I highly recommend him!! Free pictures from the resort are just ok..I will post some below. Any questions feel free to ask...thought I would keep this review short and sweet:) Don't stress the small stuff..relax and enjoy every moment:)

Omg! You looked gorgeous! Congrats!!! My wedding colours are pink and orange..so it was nice to see what the pink looked like..very bright!

I see your groom wore beige pants and a white shirt -- our plans were that my groom was going to wear white pant and white shirt (bohemian...relaxed pants)....does anyone have any input on that? Is it to much with all the white? Our groomsmen are wearing beige pants/white shirt...hmmmm

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
