Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

FleetMac bride,

I had issues with the "upgrade" situation promised in the free package also.  What Chandlyn said is that it upgrades you to a higher up room on the floor and the amentities in the room (the slippers and robes), but not an "upgraded" level.  There is an upgraded level that allows you access to the Internet Room, free safe, and liquor in the internet room.  This comes with the "Club" level.

There is a newer side to Gran Bahia that was built only a couple years ago...I had to request that we were on that side.  That's probably the different building your agent is referring to.

Also thanks for posting another pic. I just talked to Marcia yesterday and told her I have some cute shoes for her shoe fetish LOL.

Thanks

We were also all upgraded for free to the Club Golden from our travel agent as a gift to everyone that has booked.

That's what we had - all the internet access in the club room along with the robe and slippers, etc. and we were in the "new" tower on the 7th floor, plus yes - our safe was free.  I didn't do like Vicky and get the internet access only because we had the free 30 mins per day from the club room. it let us check in with elderly parents, etc. and watch email, which we only did every second day or so. we paid for this with our Transat package. we also bypassed the front desk when we arrived and got taken straight to our room.

I found it was so windy on our wedding day that it kept me cool. it was only when we got away from the beach/gazebo area that I started to get hot even with strapless. the park we went to got really warm and that was at 4PM. that's when I was desperate for something cool to drink. but if you stay down near the beach you should be fine, and the restaurants are cool inside.

Try Stacey Clarke she does amazing work and can be contacted through her website or her facebook page. She is very quick to reply and has reasonable prices.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
