Okay, so my travel agent said that all the rooms are ocean view at the Bahia.  So I believed her and was just reading a view on tripadvisor and it said that you have to request an ocean view.  And on my bill it just says ocean suite from my TA.  So what gives?   Anybody know differently?

Akua420 do you know if your group is booked in the Royal Golden section? If they are then yes all the rooms should be ocean view suites. We chose to upgrade to the golden section, but since it was $100 more we gave our guests the option to upgrade or not. Not all rooms are ocean view though.

Hey Erin!  Thanks for all the info, its always helpful having someone who has actually been to the resort before!  I know you were talking about a map, where did you find it (or if you have a copy from the resort, could you attach it here?)  I'd love to figure out the layout but haven't been able to find a map yet.

Did you see other weddings there?  If so, what did you think?  Any suggestions or heads up for us of anything that we should know (wedding or just about the resort in general).  That is awesome news about the snorkeling, my fiance and I love to snorkel and I was worried about that!  Did you do any excursions around the island when you were there?  We wanted to take everyone on a sunset cruise or something like that but aren't sure yet.

Thanks for your help and congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!

I found the map by joining a facebook group on the Gran Bahia thats pretty cool. I have added it below, I actually included it on a full page in the pre travel brochure we are giving people in January.

Are you sure transat offers only royal golden because this is who we booked with and they still gave us the regular room and royal golden as seperate prices. But just like AshleyL said fit was a $100pp difference so just like her, we're letting our guests decide which one they want. I'm kinda confused now...lol

I'm interested in the photographer too!

I just heard back from Bev and she showed me the flowers included in the wedding package.  I'm glad I saw them now because I hate them and am going to order my flowers from a cheaper florist off site.  I want pink flowers, not red and yellow!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
