Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

If you're waiting to hear from Merrick, he was out of Jamaica shooting a wedding in the US i think and was supposed to get his flight back yesterday but with the snow was expecting his flight would be delayed.  Give it another day or so, hes usually quite quick with his responses!

Honestly I'll try to help you ladies out as much as I can. With Beverly not returning emails promptly I know how frustrating it can be waiting for an answer. I'm still waiting for all the pictures from our photogs those are the only ones I've seen so far too but am very excited to see the rest!

You must be getting so excited! Time will fly and before you know it you'll be on that beach saying 'i do'

Yes- You can honestly bring whatever you want down and tell them how you want it and they will set it all up for you. But you can also go with the ideas you have and try to arrange something with her there to get the stuff, because bringing extra suitcases gets expensive. I brought 2 totally full extra suitcases filled with wedding stuff and it cost me $180, granted one suitcases was pretty much just my oot bags alone with like flowers and other things that weighed nothing. Also, If you're bringing your own stuff down I'd pack a glue gun or something just incase something breaks you can fix it. My cake topper had a cute starfish attached to it and it broke off during transit, luckily I packed the glue gun and all was fine!

Also, does anyone know the website for the resort photographer ?

Newsflash to GBPJ brides: Beverly is gone as of Tuesday last week. I phoned Tai Flora today to get some info on flowers and pricing and the lady there told me that Beverly left. So anyone waiting for her to get back to them should contact the assistant, Chandlyn. I heard Beverly calling her Chandy when I phoned to confirm our date and time. But I also think Chandlyn was doing the emails anyway so she may just be trying to catch up. I was told that Chandlyn has been with GBPJ six years and is very good and she was with RIU hotels before that so she said we're still in very good hands.

She is gone gone... I just emailed them last night asking who was taking over my wedding and also to reconfirm my date and time as I was worried I was going to get over looked and woudl be double booked. The assistant Chandlyn now has the title of Wedding planner at the GBP. She did not reply what happened to Beverly but assured me she would be handling the wedding for me. Kinda freaked me out a bit as Bev and I had already discussed so much, I now just worry it will all get overlooked. Let's hope she kept really good notes!!!

that's extremely worrisome!!  it does make you think about wanting to double check everything, except the fact pretty much all the interaction i've had has been with chandlyn, so hopefully things will be all good!!!

i have a question for anyone who has ever used vistaprint.....how do i get x amount of free pens without paying the $5 to ship each one??? i've heard of girls doing this, and i just seem to not be able to figure it out.  any help would be great! thanks

Okay... so anyone who has spoken to Chandlyn... is she checking the main (Beverlys) email? We sent in our birth certificates a few weeks back and still haven't heard a reply regarding them... I'm really concerned now. With how busy they were with 2 of them, now there's only one standing.

If nobody minds a suggestion, it's really worth it if you live in Canada pretty much anywhere to buy a $5 or $10 phone card. you can buy them at any convenience store. I got some company called CiCi but it's great. for $10 I got 80 minutes worth of time to Jamaica and I'm in southwestern Ontario. email is great but sometimes, like now with Bev being gone, just for the reassurance a telephone call would really help. same with the flower info I was looking for on pricing. it was a holiday here yesterday so I did a bunch of stuff, one of which was calling the flower place. I'm sure everything is fine. all of the contact I've had is with Chandlyn even the day I called. Beverly was asking Chandlyn my questions while I was on the phone with her, so I really question who was doing all the work. it may take Chandlyn a few days to get organized and I doubt very much with the size of the hotel they will leave her on her own to manage everything but I think it will all work out. this process has enough stress with it already. if anyone is really and truly worried about any of their wedding stuff, I would definitely recommend a phone call.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
