StephAli, Thank you for all of your information so far. What restaurant did you have your dinner in? How did you like it? And what flavour cake did you have?

There was another wedding the day I got married, but I honestly wouldnt haven known. Beverly was fabulous and totally seemed to know who I was and completely focus on me. She even came in towards the end of my dinner to check up on everything and to let me know the gazebo was ready for me. I only paid $500 for the gazebo and that included the dj. I had to pay extra for the bartenders, but she charged me for half the group since its a per person thing.

As for day passes we had two people come in who were staying off the resort. They went to the desk, got there wrist bands and then waited for almost 15 mins and still werent asked to pay, so they casually walked away...lol...I believe that the passes were somewhere in the $75-$80 range....but I can't seem to find the email that had that info....

Hope that helps!

They definitely do 2 weddings a day, unless you pick a time thats not peak, then you might only get one.  But they ahve it set up so you don't see the other bride, not sharing spaces or anything so I am not concerned at all.

It is too bad that we wont be there at the same time.
Have you been to Jamaica before? or will the wedding be your first time there?

I actually lived in St.John's for about 5 years before moving to Fort Mcmurray and then to Edmonton.  We will be getting there on August 4th and leaving on the 11th (we were going to stay for 2 weeks but we're actually planning on having another reception and dance in Grand Falls when we get home so we cut it down to 1 week). Too bad we won't be there the same time!!

She sent me the contract that she wanted me to sign and send back to her and she requested a 50% deposit whenever I was ready, there was no timeline! :)

I finally got a quote from Jan's Flowers and will be making that deposit today but have already made a deposit for Merrick Cousley. I thought it would be simple to show up at the bank with the account numbers he gave me and just wire the money but there's a pile of other information (inclding his personal address) and well as paperwork to make it go through at the bank so I ended up using PayPal and saving money compared to the bank fees!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
