Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

The minister fee is $200.

The meal is $25 per person pass 16 people

The gazebo rental is $500 for 2 hours....we are doing it from 830-1030, however if you want a bartender down there is $15 per person. We are just going to pay the bartender and bring down some booze and mixes, we did this in Cuba and got a bottle of rum for like $5-10 as I cant see paying that much for a bartender. If you want to reserve the gazebo you have to email Beverly to let her know.

So...even will all of this its cheaper then the $1500 package, which worked out nice for me.

I also got a quote from Jans today and its amazing so I thought I would share!

6 bouts, 3 crosages, 3 bm, my bouquet is only $220...I think I might also ask about centrepieces as it might be better than lugging them down!

Katelynn - Did she say how much the gazebo rental and the minister fees are with the free wedding package?

akua420 - I was told the same thing, but I emailed Beverly today and she responded with this:

Good afternoon Leah:
Please be advised that it is not too late to make the change to the free package. Please find the attached of what is inclusive.
The package can be upgraded to suit your requirements.

And the free package has almost everything we need except the minister fees, and bridal bouquet AND it's $10 cheaper per person for the meal!

Definitely worth emailing her.

I just emailed Beverly back again and said that numerous brides have said there is still a free package and asked for details.  Also I emailed the spa about a hair appointment, and its already booked the entire day, so I don't have anywhere to get my hair done. And the package states that hair is included in it.  So yeah, I don't know what I am going to do now.  I can't do hair, I suck at it.  Great, now I'll have crap hair for the wedding.  I'm trying not to be stressed, but I"m getting there.  What else won't happen beacuse I didn't know and didn't book it!  Will I get the supper, or will they say "Sorry we're all full, you'll have to eat at the buffet?"  This is ridiculous.  If the hair is included in the package don't you think MAYBE she should have told me to book it?  If it wasn't for this site I wouldn't have known AT ALL.

FML.

Brutal akua!  I would write them back and say that you have it included in your wedding package, and that you are getting married!  Maybe they'll be able to squeeze you in??

I'm going to have to try to book appoinments for my bridesmaids hair - I wasn't worried about it, cause with only one wedding a day at the resort I didn't think it would book up...  Who goes on vacation down south and books a hair appointment when it isn't for a wedding????

One thing my TA told me - print off every email you got from Beverly and take them with you - if there are any issues when you get down there, you'll have everything in writing......

Katelynn do you have a contact for Jan's for the flowers?  I was quoted $400 from the place the resort goes with and that's only for 4 bout and 3 bm bouqets and mine.  Let me know.  Thanks

A question that just came to me that i don't know if any of you ladies have already confronted...though it sounds like most of you are now going with the free package...

Do you let Beverly know if you would like to utilize a different florist as opposed to the 'contracted' Tia Floral and then does the resort pay the florist you chose?  We are going with the Blissful Love package and that includes bouquets, floral decorations, etc...if the resort has already contracted Tia Floral...how do I go about changing that?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
