Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls! So I'm up in the air about getting hair and make-up done at resort or by rashel. Resort charger $210 for hair and make-up, Rashel charges 250$ that includes travel but then you also have to pay for her day pass I believe? so I would be paying $115 more...I just don't know if I should or not, trying to keep things fairly cheap. Any suggesstions??

I have booked Raschel, and she says that they don't charge a vendor fee for her to come and do hair and makeup.  Also I know if you pay in advance she offers a discount and depending on how many girls you are getting done it may cover the travel cost.  I know that is how mine worked out because there is 7 of us getting done.  Good luck planning!

Hi there - Can any past brides who had the Unforgettable package without a private dinner - or any extras for that matter - give me an account of their day?

We are getting married at 4 pm and I am curious how everything is scheduled from the ceremony to the reception to the dinner and then what happens after that?

Thanks!

I can't help you in regards to the Unforgettable package.  We used the free package.  That being said we only paid for an extra bouquet, bouteneeir and two extra people for dinner, plus the minister fees.  All together it was $330.

We were married at 4pm.  We had to meet the wedding planners at 345pm in the lobby (myself, my maid of honor, my parents who were walking me down the aisle) and they took us by golf cart to the site.  Our ceremony lasted approx 20 minutes.  After our ceremony they give you champagne and we just chatted with everyone and had our congrats for probably 20 minutes.  After that we took our family type photos and then my husband and I went off with the photographer for photos.  Everyone else either went to their room to freshen up or to the lobby bar.  We were done our photos about 6pm (it was dark already) so we met with everyone at the lobby bar for about 20 minutes before going to dinner at 630.  I wish we would have had our ceremony at 330 to give us an extra half hour for photos because it did get dark so soon.  Our dinner lasted about 2 hours, until 830pm.  We then went to the pool side bar which was open until 11pm.  We were the only ones there and they had dancing music so we had our own little party.  We chose to do that verse pay to rent the gazebo as there was only 18 of us.  After that we went to the disco.  Hope that helps!

Thanks very much.  Did you have any speeches and where were they given?

We are keeping our wedding as cheap as possible and are therefore using the resort Spa but from what i've read on here and pictures that have been added I think they are just as good as any other person so i'm not worried that i've made the wrong choice.  My wedding is in 7 weeks so i'll write a review when I get back and be sure to include a piece about how I found the salon service etc so it might help you make a decision...cheers.gif

- Is there music provided/played as we walk down the aisle like reggae or similar or do we bring our own C.d?

- Is there a rehearsal the day before the wedding or some kind of run through?

- With all inclusive you can usually make reservations once you get there, is there a way to make them before you go?  If so, How many people can be included on the all inclusive reservation?

-  With OOT bags should I just put the guests names on each of them so they can put them in the room for me?

Xoxo,

Kara

I got this contact from Chandlyn as I wanted to reserve for a rehearsal dinner in June.  I got the response from Marshalyn to make the request again in June as they don't make reservations this early in advance. Marshalyn Dean at prexecutivebpjam@bahia-principe.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
