Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Maybe all of us that are down there at the same time can get a bonus group discount!?  Are you thinking about purchasing the beverages from the resort...or going to a market to stock up??  I am still leaning towards the idea of just putting larger cups in the OOT bags and if we are only renting the gazebo for 2 hours...one or two trips to the bar can't be THAT bad??!!!  Or can it???

Does anyone know if there are "clubs" or entertainment venues on the resort grounds?  It might be kinda fun for those in our parties that like to party longer to head to one of those after the gazebo ordeal?!

I heard from other brides that there is a beach party on Tuesday nights which is a lot of fun, so we're just going to party there after the wedding.  I'm not going to have enuogh people to justify renting out a place, and buying booze and  everything, so we'll party with everyone else and then I get congratulationg from everyone I walk by and I'm not going to lie, I'm looking forward to everyone seeing me in my dress, even if its strangers!!!

There is also a club too, I haven't heard anything about it but it will be your wedding so I'm pretty sure no matter what you will be having a good time!

Question for you guys, we're getting married at 2, do you know what time they have the supper afterwards?  Will it be at 6, or do they ahve it set up based on the other weddings/  Any ideas on this?

I think if your only having the semi private dinner and not renting out the whole restarurant you have to wait until the a la carte regularly opens...which is probably around 6ish I'd say.

and thanks for the info about the beach party...im also getting married on a tuesday so this is good info to know and possibly save some $$

Hmm I will definitely have to find out more info about bringing our own booze.  That would be way cheaper!

Beverly told me that dinner is at 6:30 and I asked if we could do it earlier and she never really answered me so I'm not totally sure about that.  She made it sound like its 6:30, no earlier...

Hi ladies! I'm a Negril bride, but I might just be jumping ship for GBP. I have a quick question for you! Did you all work with a travel agent or go directly through Gran Bahia Principe? Do guests have to pay for their trip in full in order to book or do they accept a deposit?

From what I've been reading on here it seems like us Canadian brides go with the all inclusive package - flight and hotel and it seems that in the U.S people tend to book them separately (im not sure why this is, our TA never offered to book flights and hotel seperately so we just went with the package). For us, guests have to put down an initial deposit of $200 and then they can pay any amount, any time but the trip most be paid in full 30 days before we leave.

Good luck planning!

I was also told dinner at 6:30 and our wedding is at 1pm, so I'm guessing everyones dinner is then....

My FI and I are just going to buy a couple bottles and mix. We also only have the gazebo for 2hrs., and figured that we could have some there for the beginning, and then let people go for the walk! Hopefully they'll come back! After 1030 we just plan on making our way to the disco to keep the celebration going!

We used a TA to book everything all inclusive. The only time I was given separate flight/accommodation pricing was when I was looking into pricing for people who only want to come for 3 nights.....All my guest had to give a $200 deposit and the remainder was due 2months before we leave....

We booked through a Travel Agent and she hooked us up with FunJet vacations and we are doing the all-inclusive option too...she also got us an additional wedding discount that is per reservation and starts at atleast $50...so that was nice.  She gave us flyers to send out with our invites and said that people could book everything as a package through her or they could find their own flights and just book the accommodations through her if they wanted to or whatever...as long as the reservation amount that was booked through her was at least $1000, they would get at least $50 off!  I can't complain about that!  But our guests do have options of going either way...all-inclusive or not...to me it is much more simplified to go the all-inclusive route...especially with the price being right.  She quoted us $470 for airfare and $778 per person for 7 nights...loving the prices!!!  Our guests have to pay the airfare portion and $200 of the accommodation costs upfront...the remainder is due at the end of March...(we are getting married in May)

As far as the booze option goes, I think we are just going to get large, personalized beverage cups to put in the OOT bags and being that the gazebo part is only 2 hours...hopefully that will only equal 1 or 2 trips to the bar!?  Haven't totally decided on that one yet...just seems like a hassel because we also have people who don't drink, so we wouldn't want to be unfair to them...so that would mean purchasing soda too!?  smile105.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
