Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married in April 2015 at the Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica. We chose the free package but don't really know what that includes. Has anyone chosen the free package? Is it better to get another package or just upgrade individual things from the free package?

Thanks for any help.

Hi kcotts!

I got married in December 2013, and went with the free package.  I did consider other packages, but when I priced things out, the free package still was a better dollar value for myself.  You should look at the other packages and decide if the "upgrades" are what you want and worth it to you and if you would utilize them.  Then compare to what it would cost if you did the free package and picked and choose what upgrades you want.  See which in the end, would be a better deal for you!  I hope that helps!

Congrats and welcome! Your wedding date is just a day after mine! good time of the year to get married in Jamaica!!

We didn't have the steel drum band, but they don't play during from what I understand. They'll play you up and walking out, then they'll play for a short time after while you're having champagne. I think they can play just about anything you want!

Thank you so much for your response!  I have looked online for some videos of weddings with the steel drum bands and they seem like so much fun to me.

I am pretty sure that is what we will do for the music.

Love that you got married around the same time we plan to.  I am so excited!

I did post this earlier, but for any of you that don't want to actually pay for the steel drum band, I have an alternative. It's steel drum wedding music, just without the cost. It's what we put on our CD and it played beautifully!

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Dutchess...That's great!  let me know if you want to see them I can email them to you!!  (unless I can upload them in a way that everyone can see them)

Have you heard back from the WC about having multiple wedding groups in the same restaurant?  I asked Vinnette about it and she just told me the same old line about that their will be other guest from the resort in the restaurant, if you are having a semi-private reception.  I'm sure it will all work out tho.

Yup she said semi private. I asked is it ok because I no someone else is there! But no reply. Either way im not looking to steel it from you lol. Really I prefer the grill but want my wedding guests infront of me rather then beside. Oh well no biggy I guess. we are getting down to wire. I ordered the stickers cause I saw your post so I checked it out. But I didnt see yours. I posted it on fb. I usually use that page now. Its easier. But still looking forward to partying with you.

Either way im semi private guaranteed someone else is at grill to.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
