Congrats must be very exciting!!!! How was your wedding experience at this resort? This is one if my choices for my 2015 wedding
It was a dream come true! Couldn't be happier with the whole day! We would have gone back this year for our 1 year anniversary but I was preggo and couldn't travel. So we're doing it for our 2nd anniversary.

Wondering what you girls are all doing for wedding favors? I can't seem to be able to decide what to do.. Also any good idea's for bridal party gifts? I'm completely at a loss right now as what to get.. Thanks

I'm doing gifts for all the guests that i'm hoping can be placed in their rooms shortly after arrival. My mom is making everyone beach bags (they're kind of ugly but she doesn't really care what I think! lol) and we're getting everyone really nice water bottle/coffee mug things that they can use for drinks at the pool bar and beach. I'm trying to avoid bringing down a lot of stuff so we're skipping on the actual wedding favors and I'm getting thank you cards or something printed saying that a donation to Autism Speaks is being made on their behalf instead of favours. The donation is a personal touch for me since I have a brother with Autism who wont be able to be there and my FI and I both work in the field...

Bridal party gifts, we're still trying to figure out. I already got all the bridesmaids beach wraps that they can use in JA and we can use while we're getting ready. I thought they'd make for fun pictures instead of the more traditional bath robes or t-shirts. I was thinking a necklace or something for each bridesmaid or maybe just a spa gift certificate or something. My FI has no idea what he's doing for his groomsmen (and woman) yet.

Hi MelB

What time are you getting Married on the 15th? I will also be getting married that day. We are currently booked at 2pm. Have you had much luck with corresponding with the wedding coordinators? I found out the other day the resort does not offer steaming for wedding dresses :(

Hey Hey! I'm scheduled for a 4pm ceremony, dinner at the Dolce Vita and the gazebo with DJ in the evening. So exciting! Maybe we'll see you there.

I have had some difficulty back and forth with the WC's. I plan on calling mid-October to try and figure some things out, while still giving myself time to change some things if I need to (like the way I bring my music for example.)

My grandma is a seamstress, so she's bringing a travel steamer for me. I've heard other brides say they are/or have steamed up their bathrooms with their dress in it, and it usually does the trick.

Or, buy a steamer? :)

I bought starfish bottle openers (beer, not wine.) and bottle stoppers (wine) with starfish on top.

It's the year of the starfish... and the colour turquoise for me. Haha.

Also, I bought my ladies swarovski starfish earrings. They are simple, stud-like earrings... not too gawdy. So they can wear them again. And decently priced.

I really want to get personalized tumbler cups with straws so everyone can use them all week, but I am having a hard time finding a seller that doesn't charge an arm and a leg to ship to Canada, and also doesn't have a huge minimum order amount.  Also thinking of making some t-shirts or something like that.

As for my MOH etc.. I am planning on getting purple (wedding color) jewelry.  something that they can wear again.  My FI has been tasked with figuring out the gifts for the guys!

Any of you know if they do anything special for anniversaries or renewal of vows? Can you please pass along to me the email address for the wedding coordinator... I don't have her email address anymore as it's been a year and a half since my wedding there. Is it still Chandlyn and Donnalee? Thanks in advance!

the email for the assistant wedding planner is: [email protected]

and for the wedding planner, try: [email protected]

I honestly have no idea who the wedding planner is - and it seems that lots of people are dealing with different people in the wedding department.  My contact is Vinnette.

Regarding the tumblers...if you're interested, this is what I did.  I bought clear tumblers from dollarama ($2 a piece), and then got personalized vinyl waterproof stickers from a seller off of etsy, called Davet designs (http://www.etsy.com/shop/DavetDesigns).  They turned out great, and sooooo easy to personalize.  She was very quick at responding and getting them to us.

For favors, we got bottle openers (for beer) that look like flip flops, and much like how we personalized our tumblers with vinyl waterproof stickers, we did that with our favors as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
