Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Those of you who had the steel drum band - do they play what you ask them to? For the ceremony or during the time after the ceremony? If they don't play what you ask, what sort of songs do they play? How long are they there for?
We paid $400 plus 10% tax for an hour. They can play what you want if they know how but they play great music. I didn't care what they played! :-)

They will send a price list.  Hair and makeup is $210.  $120 for hair and $90 for makeup.  It includes a free trial and they won't discount the price if you don't want the trial.  I already asked.

Thanks.. yikes that seems like a lot for hair!!!

Thank you for your reviews Ladies!! The resort still hasn't taken my deposit for my November 2013 wedding. Should I be worried? I sent the photocopies and everything to Stephany, but I guess she'

s gone now. When I replied through the email train with all the deposit details in it, asking they process the deposit, I was asked to resend everything. :(

Should I be worried? Cause I am.....

I thought so too!  I may just get the hair done but do the makeup myself.  I need all the help I can get with doing my hair.

And.... sorry if this posts twice.  I have no idea why all of a sudden this has started!

The exact same thing happened to me.  I faxed everything to Stephany...she is now gone.  And was told that they don't have any of my information, my wedding date and time weren't confirmed, and am now supposed to courier my notarized documents to them. wacko.gif  I asked if I get my documents back, because these aren't necessarily things I want others to keep or get their hands on.  They still haven't replied...

That does not at all ease my mind. I just tried calling and did not get an answer, so i left a voicemail. AND sent an email.

My wedding has been confirmed since July 18th 2012. They have all my information.

I am freaking out!

From what I understand, they don't take the deposit until 60 days before the wedding so if you are getting married in November, it won't be taken out until September.

I am getting married at this resort on October 31, 2013.  No, we didn't want a Halloween wedding, but it was the only spot left for the week.

I have a question about make-up and hair.  Does anyone know if there are other options than the spa at the resort?  I was shocked with a price tag of $210 for both from there.  Let me know.

Thanks,
Amanda

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
