Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

We leave November 2nd now instead of 1st.  Transat changed the flight date, apparently they can do that!!

We are paying $1421 for Royal Golden taxes in,but they gave our TA the wrong quote and we booked before they  noticed the mistake. we also have the same deal, after every 21st person we get one free, but still have to pay taxes.

MrsViolo! Just curious as to when your date is, I'm also getting married January 2014. We will be there from December 29th to January 12th. Our wedding is on January 3rd. It's a very expensive time of year to travel, I'm actually really surprised at the amount of ppl that have booked with us.

We're getting married in Jan 2014. Booked our trip by December 2012. Most people coming booked by March 2013. People that are booking now are having to pay $400 more per person. The price may still go down but our flight is almost sold out so its unlikely. I'm glad we booked early. With Marlin Travel we booked a Transat Package with a price drop gauarentee so even if the price drops we get the lowest price. I'm glad we booked early. People who are just booking now are kicking themselves for not. January is a busy travel time of year however so the deals at that time aren't that great.

I looked up the rates and flight times when I heard that the flight times were out and pretty bad, and the price on my travel date is now up to $1900-something with taxes so I am somewhat happy about my rate but I know that I have lots of people who are waiting for a cheaper rate to come out later on and are not going with our group rate...Not sure if I should send out a mass e-mail and let them know that the price is much higher than what we have now, and we still have the option to change it if it drops.

That's too funny that you're dealing with Marlin Travel in Kitchener too.  We have a meeting with the Manager on Friday night to try and resolve some of the issues we're having.  The rate we have right now with Marlin/Transat is more expensive then people can book on their own with itravel2000 or selloffvacations.com so I highly doubt anyone would book with the group.  We only have 10 deposits so far and my fiance and our kids make up 5 of those lol.  So even though I have every 12th booking free, we may not even get to that.  We were hoping for 2 free so we could treat everyone to a snorkelling trip.

WHAT??!!  They can change the date??!!  I know their flight schedules are subject to change, but I figure by a few hours here and there, but not by an entire day!  So does that mean your return flight was delayed a day too? But good for you for getting that awesome deal!

We all cut our bracelets off that morning and went the next day to the front desk and they gave us new ones.  They never asked to see our old ones but we took them with us just in case.  We also confirmed that there would be no charge to do this because at some resorts they do charge you a fee for new bracelets.

thanks

I sent out soo many of those mass emails! They didn't really work until I found out our flight was sold out! Then we had a few people upgrade to club class seats so more people could fit on the plane. The prices have gone up a few hundred per person and I don't anticipate them going down. Trips to JA are usually around 2000 for January so I think out 1600 incl take for the golden section is pretty good. We had to do a lot of shopping around originally. I'd rather a lower rate to better flight times. FYI. If your flight sells out, no more free trips. That's the only thing that really bothered me. I know we'll have more than 52 people coming which would be 4 free trips but if they don't all take our flight they don't count. :(

I'm dealing with Marlin Travel in Kitchener and I do NOT recommend it.  I think it's more of a TA problem as she's not very good.  We're paying $1535 including tax for the Royal Golden, every 12th person free.  You end up paying for the free person, it's just buried in your price.

We are at the GBP from January 20th to 27th and are flying with Air Transat...booked through Trip Central and are paying $1600 for Golden Club rooms. Our TA has been great, and I found that prices in January were actually better than February, March and April! Our flight times are reasonable too...we leave Toronto at 8:00 a.m. and fly back from Jamaica early afternoon!

We're getting married next May and have booked through Marlin Travel/Transat in Walkerton - $1494 inc tax with every 15th person free plus everyone gets upgraded to the Royal Golden for free. Pretty sweet deal if anyone is interested in booking through Marlin in Walkerton. Amazing service too!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
