your photos are beautiful and your dress is gorgeous!! and the same minister that married us! I haven't seen anyone different yet so he must be the one that does all the  GBPJ weddings. he's wonderful and an absolutely lovely man!
Hi there - wondering how you brought your own flowers? Were they fake? ( not meaning to sound rude).. I've considered it but not sure how that would work exactly...

Thanks. Does the resort spa use airbrush make up? And do they touch up during the day for you? What is an average price for resort spa hair/make up? Thanks!
The resort spa doesn't use airbrush make up-only normal make up. They don't offer a touch up throughout the day but I didn't find I needed a touch up. My make up stayed in place perfectly all day.

I think it's $95 for hair and $85 or $65 (can't remember exactly) for make up. So quite expensive but worth it for your special day - you only do it once! :-)

Hello!

My name's Cassie, and I am new to this website!

I am planning to get married at GBP in November of next year.  Was hoping for some helpful tips and rough guest quotes!  I've contacted some travel agents, but all the quotes I have received have been above $1700, which seems crazy since I can find it for $1400 on my own.  I did happen to find one travel agent back in Ontario (I live in British Columbia, Canada) who provided better quotes, and was honest enough to advise me to wait until later this summer to lock in to a quote price.

Just wondering how far ahead people have had their guests lock in, and which wedding packages you have gone with? Did you find the resort accommodating to all of your guests, especially children and older adults?  We will likely be having a group of about 50 people.

Thanks everybody, I'm excited to be on here finally!

Hi Cassie!

Word of advice...  make your travel arrangements at a later date, but book your wedding date and time as soon as possible.  They fill up quickly!  I got stuck having to change my week and having a noon wedding as I left it with only 9 months prior!

Evening ladies, I have 10 more sleeps until we fly to Jamaica, I'm just so excited!!! As its only husband 2B and me, I haven't made my mind up on restaurant for dinner. However, requested Chris Lee for photography, silver package plus TTD and video. Rashel Edwards for hair & make up. Resort for nails! Just need to pack, sort music, alter dress slightly, and the norm last minute bits, and I think that's it! Oh and flowers when we get to resort(tropical). I'm on countdown!!!! Xxx

Hey Cassie,

Take CdnBrideJoanne's advice.  A year may seem far away, but if you have a date in mind...book right away and leave the travel packages to the 8 to 6 month mark...watch what the prices are like this coming November to give yourself an idea of what to expect.  This a an awesome site...I just love the reviews, advice and information the past and future brides have shared.  Happy Planning!!

just under 2 months to go......!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
