I was wondering how long before the wedding should I start looking into the flowers?  I am not picky about flowers, but I am going to be pretty specific on the colour.  When did you guys start picking flowers? I am just wondering in case I have to upgrade them.  I'm sure it will take longer to go through the outside vendor.

We didn't pick flowers until we arrived during our meeting - I knew I wanted orchids and I wanted purple.

For the dress in the airplane, there was room enough in the plane for my dress to lie flat in its own overhead bin above our seats. There was two weddings on the plane and we were both able to get our own compartments no problem.

we flew air transat out of Toronto for our wedding in October and all they allowed was putting your dress in an overhead bin. no mention of a "captain's closet". there were 2 other weddings on our flight so I just snagged an overhead and then guarded it with my life for anyone trying to cram anything else in there. the other thing too is that it will steam out in a hot shower once you arrive in Jamaica

Hi, it does definitely help if you are able to just go with the flow in Jamaica, there no point worrying about the small things, I so wish I was Jamaican they are the happiest people I've ever met! I purchased my dress from a shop (The Wedding Shop) in my home town in England, a place called Colchester. Yes it was expensive but I wanted the perfect dress for me & I fell in love with it so when I saw the

price tag it was too late, I wanted it! Ha ha

 

well your dress is just gorgeous! do you know who the designer is? and when it comes to the wedding dress, I think most brides allow for the budget to be stretched!!  I think because my cousin and her daughter went all the way to London the prices were higher

She gave me the same quote.  In the end it wasn't much of a cost savings to the resort so I decided not to use her.  

Have you seen the hair/make up work from the spa at the resort? Rashel's work just seems sooo good! (I've been watching her on FB)...haven't seen the work from anyone at the resort, hence my fear, regardless of price...

wow congrats to all the recent brides, your pics look fabulous!

 

Time for my review - we got married on April 22nd at 1pm & the whole day was perfect, no-one needs to stress!!

 

We used all the resort services, the spa girls were fabulous, I was pretty pleased with the resort photographer & the videographer - yes the video is a bit cheesey but that's how all wedding videos are in my opinion & it was well worth the cost for family at home to see

 

we too had problems with the electrics at gazebo so I was waiting in the cart for about 20-30 mins, we were going to continue without my music but they fixed it.  my dad/sister was getting a little stressed about this but as I had seen it happen in a wedding a few days earlier I was fine about it & just relaxed, Jamaican time mon!

 

the ceremony was perfect, we cut the cake & did our first dance at gazebo, then group photos & we'd opted for the beach session too.  after the ceremony we all spent the afternoon watching the football team we support on tv in one of our guests rooms with lots of champagne they had purchased in the airport!  it was the perfect day as all our guests are big football fans & we won the league that game so big celebrations all round

there was then time for people to change (I had a second dress) for our reception at the grill, which was perfect.  after the grill, lots of drinks all day long we headed over to the entertainment area & it became quite a long night of drinking & dancing (very different for our group who had been early birds most of the holiday!)

 

everything was lovely, we took our own sashes & flowers as I wanted chocolate brown & was unsure if they would have them.  as I had my own flowers, they included a centrepiece for the table in its place

oh & also some one else here said earlier about the cake - we cut the cake for photos then it was served to our guests while we were off doing our beach photo session, we thought it may turn up at the reception but it didn't

 

no sign of it or what had happened to it which we though was strange as the whole bottom layer hadn't been touched then when we got back to our room the following night they had set up the table for us with the rest of the cake, 2 plates & forks, a bottle of champagne in the fridge & 2 glasses - we thought this was a lovely surprise!!
