Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Wow ladies. My cousins boyfriend is a phographer. He's really good and said if I pay for his trip (he's coming either way) he would do the photography from the airport till after the wedding. He would edit everything and put it on cd and print whatever I want at cost. So I thought I would use my free trip for him, but now if I have to pay another 800!!

Wow well I am a Professional Photographer and Im bringing all my equipment but obviously I cant shoot my own wedding.  I have some friends that will use my equipment for the day and be my "photographers".  Im def NOT paying the $800 to do so.. thats just ridiculous!
I will however have the resort Photographer there as well and get my 15 free images.  This really wasnt something I wanted to stress about but I really wanted my own pictures that I can edit myself in my own style.

She said if it comes down to it she will pay the $800, but I still think it is BS. We have to pay for many other things...I just don't understand. But, I will be putting a stop to the resort photographer being in my room...that is my privacy and I heard the resort photographer is not good at all. Sorry to sound rude, but this is one of the most important days of my life and I don't need any extra stress that day. :-)

I completely agree with you, the invasion of privacy..... I personally dont want some random dude in my room. i emailed chandlyn to correct that issue

If you say you do not want them they will be at the ceremony only.

Hopefully this helps!!

Thats so much for that information, makes me feel better. i got this very stern email from the photographer at the resort which basically told me I had no choice in the matter. Saying that he has full rights to attend my meeting........ If i dont want you there who gives you the right...

I don't think he has the right to be at your wedding....or take pictures if you don't want him to. There' something extremely backwards about this situation...Almost an invasion of privacy! Have you voiced this to the wedding coordinators. The photogapher sounds like an ass, and I personally don't want him anywhere near my wedding.

yes i confronted chandlyn with this.  this is what i was told. the photographers has exclusive right to the resort  if you request that they not be part of your wedding at all then you need to pay the photographer $800 before the wedding is performed....  you can request him not be in your room. chandlyn has forward my email i sent her to the photographer.  i will let u know what the response is. LOL!!

Do any of you have an email to get in touch with the wedding coordinators? For some reason mine isn't working and all my emails are getting sent back to me. Does anyone know why the fax number listed on the bottom of Chandlyn's email doesn't work? I want to fax our notarized copies of our birth certificates and passports and I tried to Friday but the fax number didn't work...or do you know the full address to the resort? We are 8 weeks from the wedding tomorrow and she wants those documents at least 8 weeks prior. Has anyone used the coral chair sashes that the resort has? Are they a pretty coral? Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
