Hey No Worries,

That why we have sites like this.

The number is not toll free, they do not have one!

1-876-973-7000

Reception will ask - tell them the wedding department.

Hope that helps relieve your stress!

I'm renting the Picses as well. So are you saying we do not need to g

Hi Staceydale, I was reading your post, not sure if this was answered but I called and spoke with Chandlyn yesterday. I am renting Piscis also. She told me that, that price includes restaurant for 4 hours DJ for 4 hours cake cutting if you want it there However, when I asked her about drinks she told me that the guests will have the option to have pop, beer and wine all night and that if I wanted something more than that then we could contract a bar. She did not tell me that drinks stopped after two hours. As you probably know Piscis is the beach bar so they have a bar there, the other thing she told me is that our guest could just go and get whatever they wanted at a bar??? Contracting a bar service fee in the "additional Fees" states the price is 20 per person per hour, she also told me this price     However it would be very upsetting if we contracted a bar for our guests and they only had to walk a few feet to get a drink like on the other side of the bar... LOL    Don't forget that the rental of Piscis has a fee + 10% tax and if you want a bar it is fee + 17.5% tax If you have found any different information from your reaseach or other brides that have had a wedding please let me know. I wanted to know if guests can go an grab drinks nearby, instead of contracting a bar.

Hi Belledame,

I still have alot of conflicting information. I am planning on calling her again on Tues after the long weekend.

But it is an all inclusive resort. I don't think there is any problem with this, however the question is how far do the guests have to go.

I will try to get some concrete info

All right, thank you! Another option that we decided to do is buy our own liquor and bring it onto the resort. She said a corkage fee of $15 US per bottle will apply. I don't mind doing this, as it is way cheaper than spending almost $20US pp/per hour for a total of 4 hours. I'm expecting 60+ guests, so the price will add up.

I was really hoping to have everything done and signed and set in stone by now...but, the fact that it isn't is only causing me more stress. undecided.gif

It took me a lot of time and stress!  I sent out STD's about a year ago and told everyone to save the week of Nov 23 - 30.  The TA had told me to wait for the travel bookings to open up (around April) before we could book anything.  About January, I was getting anxious and had her start working on prices for me.  Plus I had about 3 or 4 other TA's checking prices for me too.  Unfortunately, there were no wedding times left at GBP that week so I started checking out other resorts or doing an offsite wedding.  Bottom line, I like the resort and you can't beat their wedding prices so I changed my week to Dec 7 - 14.  Then I couldn't get the time I wanted, but I wasn't changing it again.

Getting the travel arrangements together took 3 - 4 weeks.  I just hope the whole vacation and wedding comes together smoother!

Thank you so  much.  I don't know why it's so hard for them to understand in my e-mail that I just want to confirm that the Piscis is mine!

I have thought of that as well...

I was looking into that as I think that there would be alot of things to consider.

Are you thining to bring the alcohol from Canada or buy in Jamaica?

If bringing from Canada

1. Would the air line you have chosen allow such a weight and volume of Alcohol?

2. I know fed-ex will not secure or guarantee any shipping of glass

3. The cost to ship would be astronomical

4. Not sure about Jamaician customs?

If you are buying in Jamaica

1. The price states that there is corkrage fee of $15 per bottle which carries a 17.5% tax on top of that

2. If they are doing a fee for that, does that cover the service or are they just opening them and leaving them for a free for all. ( I have heard of some resorts doing that, Opening 30 bottles at once and just walking away.

3. What about mixers and ice? Glasses,

4. Who clearing the glasses, and are new ones available?

5. If you are required to hire service then there is also  17.5% tax on that.

Sorry if you feel I am being negative I am just trying to think of everything, It would be bad if you did all this planning and there were hik-ups when you got there.

Now I have heard of a bride at GBPJ who asked for a cooler and ice, but they were all on their own for service.

I am sure there is a great solution!  With 60+ guests I think the biggest problem will be the clearing of glasses and the new glasses available to you ( if there is no service)

Average person drinks 3 drinks an hour 60 x 3 = 180  times by 2 hours = 360

I know it's frustrating...........

Same here! Good to know about the corkage fee tho. Are you just going to tell your guests to help themselves to drinks then?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
