Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I have asked for the package prices and havent heard anything back.  I really hope they are the same as the 2013 packages. I have been told my date and time are booked but they havent made me sign anything and no one is getting back to me about the restaurants and what I can choose from or the times that are available.  I hope I hear something soon.  I have also booked at 4pm and wrote back and asked for 3pm because I was scared that it would be really rushed after for pictures and setting up and refreshing before dinner.   It seems far away but I booked early to make sure I have all the times I want because I really dont want an 11am ceremony!!! If you hear anything please share :)
Going back through my emails Chandlyn did say my ceremony and restaurant are reserved, so I hope that holds true. I emailed her last night asking when the prices will be available, hopefully she gets back to me soon. 3pm should be a great time that time of year, I asked the photographer about my time (they emailed me today) and they said 4pm in may was great for pictures. Hopefully I'm not too rushed. I will keep you updated regarding the 2014 packages!

In today's day and age of people being so picky about what they eat, you would think their menu would be more detailed.  I'm just happy we have this website..otherwise, I would be so lost.    Thanks again by the way!!

No problem, glad I can help!

You would think they would include more detail on a lot of things to avoid repeat questions from brides to be, but I guess maybe they haven't figured that out yet:)!

Hi Everyone,

We are considering getting married at this resort next May 2014 but am having trouble first getting estimated costs for all the "extras" that would be required:  upgraded wedding package, cost for a private dinner/reception site, cost for a DJ for the private dinner/reception site, if there is a cost for a bit of a customized menu...

I'm assuming most of you have upgraded the wedding package and ensured a private venue for your dinner/dancing, so was hoping you might be able to give me a ball park on the extra costs?

Also, if you did do a private dinner/reception area, what area/restaurant did you use?  I understand their is an open-air garden restaurant we could rent out for the night, or something by the pool or beach?

Lastly, did you most of you bring in your own music/decor?

Much appreciated if you could pls shed some light!!

Thanks!

So I was a bit disappointed (but not surprised) with how the free bouquets look so I emailed Tai Flora and told them that I didn't need a bout for the groom, so how much would they charge me to upgrade to bouquet #64 and they said it would be another $119!  And I sent them the photo below to quote on doing these and they charge $33 each for them (although I'm going to bring them myself and spend maybe $10 each on them).  Thought I would share!

Does the GBP only deal with Tai Flora?  There are so many nicer florists in Jamaica.  If I was spending another $120 on the bouquet, I would expect something incredible!

Hello! I'm a May 2014 bride at this resort (may 19th) they don't have their pricing for 2014 yet but I am doing a private reception at their outdoor location (piscis beach restaurant) and the 2013 prices are 1700$ for the venue for 4 hours and includes dinner and the dj. I believe beer, soft drinks and wine are included however there is an extra charge per person for open bar liquor. Hope that helps!

I am not dealing with tai at all. Rather, I am using Jan's flora.....like half the price! LL

Hey Samantha,

I'm in the same boat, mine's at 12pm.   I was going to contact the WC to see if they would reserve tables for us at the buffet for lunch. I am also trying to organize a catamaran sail for the afternoon, just waiting on some info from the resort as they have a 3pm sunset catamaran cruise which may just work.  Other then that, I am at a loss.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
