Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

2 months until my big day =)  I had a couple questions I was hoping some of you beautiful brides could help with.

- Is there music provided/played as we walk down the aisle like reggae or similar or do we bring our own C.d?

- Is there a rehearsal the day before the wedding or some kind of run through?

- With all inclusive you can usually make reservations once you get there, is there a way to make them before you go?  If so, How many people can be included on the all inclusive reservation?

-  With OOT bags should I just put the guests names on each of them so they can put them in the room for me?

Xoxo,

Kara

Hi,

I am new to this site. My fiance and I are getting married January 21, 2014 at GBP Runaway Bay. We are just starting this whole process and have so many questions.

My biggest question right now is how early is too early to get our guests to book with our agent. We want them to get the best price and I am worried that if they sign on now, the price will be lower if they just wait a few more months. I have said this to my travel agent but I feel like she just wants to get as much as she can and won't tell us what the lowest price we could expect to pay per person is. Can anyone tell me what their guests paid for a 7 day stay in January? I have been told 1400-1800 per person and I have no idea if this is reasonable, cheap or expensive. I noticed some of you were married this past January, if any of you can reply with the rates you and your guests paid and what month you locked in those prices, I would really appreciate that! Thanks :)

Hello welcome to the site and congratulations! I am set to be married may 19 2014 at the BP. I would suggest asking your travel agent if there is an early booking bonus associated with the pricing and/or is there a best price guarantee. Some companies offer these incentives in order to get you to book early (the best price guarantee usually allows a one time price adjustment if the price drops) I'm not booked for January but 1800 seems to be definitely on the high end, however my opinion is based on package prices out of Toronto. Good luck!! :)

-We brought our own Cd with music on it.  We had music they could play before the ceremony while everyone was being seated, our music for our ceremony, and music that they played after our ceremony while we enjoyed the champagne.  I would think if you dont bring a CD they would provide some kind of music for you.

-I beleive you can do a rehersal the day before.  We had the option but chose not to.  We rather just went with the flow and everything turned out great.

-Our a la carte dinners were pre reserved so when we got there they gave us a paper with all the times and dates.  We didn't ask for this so it was a nice suprise.  However, that being said, all our reservations were super early, like 6pm, which kind of sucked as it would have been nice to have a few later on.

I had my hair and makeup done at the spa and I was really happy with the work they did.  I don't even remember the girls name that did my hair but I took her pictures and she basically did it exactly the same.  As so makeup, I don't normally wear a lot of makeup so I told her something really simple and neutral and she did just that.

Thanks!

Most travel companies have a policy that if you book early in advance and the price drops they will refund you the difference.  That happened with us.  The price dropped about 6 months before our wedding and we all got to take advantage of the lower price.  I would say ask your guests to book as soon as they can as that way you can get a clearer idea of how many people will be there.  I know for us we had to give our deposit once booking but didnt have to pay until november (we were married in January).  We paid about $2000 per person for 1 week.  We flew out of Calgary and chose a direct flight for a little bit more money versus saving $100 for a two stop flight.

We're getting married the week before you! We're getting our guest to book ASAP since there is an early booking discount and prices tend to go up as things fill up. I booked through transat and they have a lowest price guarantee so if the rates drop after you book, you get the lowest price. From Toronto we're paying 1500 for the regular section and 1600 for the club golden section. Prices from Calgary were closer to 2000. It really depends where you're flying from. I also know that your week the prices went up, that's one of the reasons we decided on the week before.

HI my wedding is Feb 1st 2014 and have already booked and guests need to put deposits down by the end of March.

Our Price out of Toronto is 1200 something plus tax.. end price 1614.00.. I was looking at the same date as you but decided on this week instead and I know that your week was 1558 per person when I got the quote.  Good luck and Congrats :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
