Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone, I am so happy with Genevieves work, I cant wait to see all of the photos, those are just a few teasers she has sent me. I know everyone wanted to see the photos by the resort photographer, so here are the pictures that the resort photographer took.  We had it included in our package, and they took pic at the ceremony and a group shot, so if anyone is interested in having their dinner/reception covered I dont know what the price is on that and what it all includes. We just got them to do whatever was included in the package.700

Your pictures were absolutely beautiful...Does anyone know if the resort photopgapher has changed recently? These pictures are very good, bust past reviews regarding the resort photographer have scared me! As well, does anyone know... if your photographer is a paying guest, do you need to pay the vendors fee. Thanks again everyone for the info...really helpful :)

Hi Ladies, I'm getting very excited as my wedding date is getting nearer(31st May 2013). I too am using the resort photographer, as its just me & hubby to be, Im reluctant to pay $800 plus the photographers fee! Am hoping the resort photographer will do a great job. Could any of you past brides let me know which restaurant is best to have our dinner, my h2b can't eat anything with gluten. So meat & veg ideal. Also we are getting married at 2 pm , and am concerned what time we will sit for dinner. If its 7pm we have a few hours to pass by, and I really don't want to get changed and sit by the pool ! Would like to keep my dress on all day, but don't want to look daft floating about in it. Is it possible to book a private dinner? Did you book excursions through holiday company or privately? Any help appreciated, Thanjs.

Wow...the resort's photographs looks really good!! Were these taken by Arrecife Studio? I recalled a past bride getting hers done by them and they were just as good.

We used Merrick Cousley and we were so happy with the results

Has anyone brought paper lanterns with them? If so, what size and how many? We have the Piscus for the evening so just wondering how many I should order.

I believe the resort photographer changed right after my wedding in January 2012.  Also, take note, the resort photography store has multiple photographers, probably 5 or so, so each one may be different in talent.  I suppose if you were considering using the resort photographers you could ask for samples of each photographers work to compare them.

I don't think there is a 'best' restraurant to have your dinner at, but if you are looking for meat and veg I would say the Grill.  We had our supper at the Grill and the food was amazing. They are also really good accomdating food concers as my mom has a severe dairy allergy and they were able to make seperate plates for her.

I beleive the suppers start at 6pm at the earliest and I'm sure if there is just the two of you you could probably do a private dinner, I would ask the planners.

We booked our excursions once we got to the resort.

Hey Stay cee1,

You are ahead of the game! For sure our paths will cross. I am still looking for items for my OOT bags. Where did you find your items in Toronto? I am excited to know someone else from T.O is going down at the same time!

My wedding is on July 9, 2013. I see yours is July 5th...We booked 10days for arrival on July 4th, so hopefully we will cross paths!

Happy planning...the count down is on and I feel like everything is just starting to come together.

So far we have completed our welcome bags, save the dates were sent out a year in advance and now just left the printers where our invitations will be completed by Friday (yippeeewoot.gif)..We selected the bridesmaid dresses and will order them along with mine next month.  I have decided on the table setting (picking up everything this weekend), and need to order the sashes for the chairs.

How are your plans coming along?

Seriously, I was one of those brides that had planned every last detial beofre hand, and once we got there, it all just falls into place stress free, even if it isnt exactly the way you pictured it. My husband( lol crazy!) has the day off today so we are spening the day at home in our pjs since its so cole(How I miss the beach and plus 30), So I will post pics and reviews later. All I would like to say is No worries! everything works our great and Chandlyn is fantastic, and accomodated everything we asked. And for anyone wondering about the picses, it was stunning! I coiuldnt see us doing our reception any other way.  Also, We are both very into high quality photography and had amazing photographer Genevieve Albert from Montreal, we did not want to use the resort after hearing they were not very good quality, HOWEVER, they cam and took the free pics anyways and I was extremely impressed by the quality of them, we got 5 free ones and paid for a couple more. Below are a few of the pics we have gotten back from Geneieve. And for hair and makeup, it was more expensive to get it done at the resort than to hire off of the resort, we went with Rashel Edwards and her stylist Sophia who were both phenomenal.

Well, gonna go relax with my husband!!! And I will put up a review sometime in the next week, gonna unwind and unpack! Nothing to worry about ladies!!!! Oh, and I have tons of advice on some amazing local excursions and a great company with great prices!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
