We had a photographer from the resort at our wedding as our package included 5 free photos.  The photographer was only there during the ceremony and took about 95 photos.  The photos werent bad, but they werent spectacular.  We were so happy we hired an outside photographer.  When we went to the photography store to get our 5 free photos I asked how much it would be if we wanted the remaining photos on a disc and they said it was $10/picture, so $900 for the 90 remaining photos.  Id highly suggest hiring an outside photographer, regardless of the high vendor fee.

I'm wondering what your experiences have been with the GBP photographer and videographer?

Are they any good? For the people that used them, how did the photos turn out? how much time did they spend with you? and what types of prices did they quote for videos and additional photos that were not included in the package?

I'm getting the impression that those that used them were not really happy?

There is a great thread on here with tons of peoples vows they wrote to use during their ceremonies.  We basically used bits and peices from many on that thread and added some of our own things.  The Reverend basically said ours word for word.  We were so happy we did it that way verse using the one provided from the resort.

Hey Brides...I am such a newbie.

I just booked my wedding here for July 5, 2013 I am really confused on the reception situation. Chandyln mentioned to book the Picses for $2500!

What are all you brides doing, or have done for your reception?

I got this email today from the assistant wedding planner; The cost for the private reception is USD 2500.00 for the Garden Grill and Dolce Vita. USD 1700.00 for the outdoors restaurant " Pisces" Please note that this price is for 2013,keep in mind that the price may change for 2014. Please view photos above with restaurant. See her answer below in regards to questions I had: Is there a minimum and maximum number of people for that restaurant? Right now we're planning on 80 people but we may have more. We can host the maximum of 150pax. What is included with the $1700? Reception dinner for four hours with the Dj. - Private dinner reception for how many? We cater for 45pax and more for private reception. - Which menus are included? The Pisces restaurant uses the same menu as Dolce Vita. - How long is the dinner? Four hours. - What time does it start? 6:00pm or 6:30pm - Is music and dancing included? Yes. - Bar service? No,the open bar will be at an extra cost, however the waiter will be serving: House wine, soda, water & beer.

So I had emailed Chandlynn asking what the vows were and I recieved them back and they are SUPER religious, and I am not okay with using them.  I emailed her back asking if the minister had to use those vows to make it legal, and I didnt really get a straight answer back.  What did previous brides do that didnt want to use the religous vows provided by the resort?

Here is what she sent me:

Vow Script

Who gives this woman to be married to this man?

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God and these witnesses to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony.

The apostle Paul in his writings declared marriage to be a Holy Estate instituted by God therefore it ought not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly but reverently, respectfully and in the love of God. Into this Holy Estate these two now come to be joined. Give heed therefore to the questions I ask you.

………….Do you take ……. to be your lawful wedding husband/wife to have and to hold from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer for poorer in sickness and in health, to love, honor and cherish for as long as you both shall live.

………..I take you to be my husband/wife,

To have and to hold from this day forward,

For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health,

To love, honor and to cherish for as long as we both shall live.

This is my solemn vow to you.

Rings:

……..I give you this ring as a token of the Covenant made between us this day and as a pledge of our mutual love, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Having pledge your faith in, and live to each other and having sealed your solemn marital vows by giving and receiving rings in the presence of the Almighty and these witnesses here gathered on the island of Jamaica this 21st day of October 2010 I now pronounce you husband and wife.

The Lord Bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you Peace . Amen

On behalf of the Management and Wedding Planners of the Gran Bahia Principe I take in great pleasure to present to you Mr. & Mrs……………………...!!!!.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
