Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Does the hotel have a wedding dress pressing service or did you all just hang your dresses in your room as soon as you arrived for the creases to drop out ?

I think it is different depending on where you come from (what country).  For us we were told we had to get copies of our drivers license notarized.  We went to a lawyer, took like 5 minutes and $40.  I would ask the wedding planners specifically what they want you to get notarized because it seems like most people get different answers on what to get notarized.

Thanks!

I'm not to sure if they have a pressing service, I never used it if they did.  My dress didn't have too many creases but my mom and dad hung it in their room right when we arrived until we got married.  My mom put it in the bathroom with her the second day we were there while she was showering and it got a little steamed and the creases went completely away.

Thanks JayKay, that's what I was thinking I was going to have to do.  Unfortunately our guests are not joining us until 5 days after we've arrived so i'm going to have to hang my dress in the wardrobe in my room and hope that my groom doesnt peek! Then as soon as my mum arrives I can transfer to her room and I'll ask her to do what your mum did and have it hanging whilst she showers. It's a long flight from the UK for the dress to be packed in a small box so i'm sure mine will be creased (unfortunately).

Hi Pask454,

I just spoke with Chandlyn last week and she requested a notorized copy of our passports and citizenship (ie: birth certificate).  When I informed her that my fiancee is out of the country on buisness for a few weeks and has his passport with him, she told me to send a notorized copy as soon as he gets home (Nov 10) even though that is only 7 weeks and not at least 2mths before the wedding.  Hope that helps!!

P.S.  When are yor arriving?? We get married the week before you

Hello :) I am new to this so I apologize if I don't know how to use it properly! haha

I am getting married May 15 2013 and I am already feeling panicked!

I was confirmed for my date in August and I have emailed the coordinators at the Gran Bahia Jamaica about 10 times since. I have only receieved one email of them saying "if you have questions please email"

I already did email them with questions and STILL haven't heard back. On September 17 I emailed about how to pay for my package and a list of questions and STILL haven't heard back

Ive emailed several times since that day and nothing. I receieved an email from "wedding planner 2" (no name??) and it said "Thanks for choosing us Vanessa! What can we help you with for your wedding?" on October 1st..... I emailed her right back with the questions and nothing in almost 2.5 weeks...... I have even called front desk and they say "Yeah I can see them sitting there, Ill transfer you!"
and then no one picks up the phone...............

Am I way behind? :( Should I have paid or at least picked my package by now!?!?

Can anyone suggest how else to get a hold of them....?

Thanks!!

Hi everyone, we are getting married in three months at GBP, I am getting sooo excited, but so nervous. I feel like I have a million things to do. I work up north in Alberta and I work 21 days straight and am only home for 7 days out of the month. Its been crazy busy trying to spend time with the fiance while im home and see friends and family and still get stuff done for the wedding.I have some questions for all you helpful ladies:

We have booked the pisces, I am wondering if anyone else has had their wedding there and if they have any pictures.

Also I thought I saw someone mention that there is a videographer? Are they at the resort? Are they very pricey?

Does anyone have any pictures of the bouquets that they let you choose from or a catalogue? I have emailed Chandlynn about this but have not heard back.

I kind of would like to have my bridesmaids with parasols, but Im not too sure if it would be too windy for those, or to have them do flowers?

AHHHHH , sorry for all of the questions, I am so happy to have the help and advice from all of the brides on here.

Oh, also we just got our engagements photos back and they are absolutely amazing, so happy with them, if I figure out how to post pics on here I will share.

You ladies will probably see me around here more often now that the big day is coming up.

Thanks everyone!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
