Recommended Posts

thanks all - think im gonna get the make up booked with them too in that case!

ooooh futurekeese im sure your dress will soon be here & will all be fine - its exciting buying all the outfits isnt it, i had a great deal on my dress - half price in the sale - fitted perfectly, the first one i tried on & i love it!! just cant wait now.  last couple of weeks we've been getting all the mens things sorted

what are your men wearing?  traditional or beachy type?  we're going for nice trousers with formal shirt, cravat & waistcoat, they all look so smart in them i want to get married next week not next april lol

sarahj - feel free to come see our wedding as im sure i'll be doing the same with other brides in the days leading upto ours!!!

how long are your parties going for?  me & oh are flying out on 12th for 14 nights, but the rest of our group are flying out either on 17th for 10 nights or 20th for 7 nights so we are sort of having  our honeymoon before everyone arrives lol

also flowers...what are your plans?  we are looking into getting artificial boquets/buttonholes made to take with us as we want them for our party when we get back too.  i know the bride & grooms are included but we dont really want extra expense & dont want to end up paying twice for everyone elses!!

I think it probably takes about a minute.  I was walking so fast though, my parents told me to slow down!

Mrsdavies2013.....hopefully I will be able to see you on your way to your ceremony :o)  we've got 4 of our guests flying with us on the Saturday for 2 weeks, then the others are following on the 24th, some staying for 2 weeks and some staying for 10 nights so unfortunately Scott and me won't get any time to ourselves throughout the holiday but we are looking into the possibility of booking a third week if we can afford it but if not we'll go away on honeymoon later in the year even if its just a week in the UK somewhere....it all comes down to money!!  Are you from the US or Canada? as some of your guests are going for just 7 days. I think its too far to fly from the UK for just 7 days. Regarding flowers our wedding package includes a bouquet and button hole freshly made on the day of the wedding so i'm just going with that as we arent having bridesmaids or anything so only myself and Scott to worry about.  I go for my first dress fitting on Sept 23rd...i'm so excited...i'm having my hair done especially for the fitting too so I can see how I will look on the day! lol....i'm like a little girl all over again playing dress-up! but I think we should all be allowed this day. My groom and his 2 best men are going for some nice cream linen trousers with shirts and just the groom will be wearing a waistcoat and buttonhole - I think they will be too hot if I ask them to wear proper suits. Ive been in contact with the spa and am going to book to have my make-up and nails done on the morning of the wedding, my friend is doing my hair for me so I don't have to pay for that.  I'm also booking me and Scott (the groom) for a couples massage hopefully on the morning of the wedding but if not the day after (our first outing as Mr & Mrs!) hehe....

Geral - congratulations and good luck for 24 August...

Here is a question for all you lovely brides and brides to be, probably directed more at  anyone that has already been married there or maybe you guys have already asked Chandlyn about this.

Me and my fiance are opting to do a private reception, because we are expecting close to 50 people and think it would be worth it.

The price I was told includes the Restaurant ( Dolce Vita)for 4 hours and the DJ for 2 hours.

Does anyone know if they will set up a microphone for speeches and if the DJ will be there for the entrances? Me and my fiance and our bridal party want to enter to specific music! haha

If the DJ only shows up later then I will need to bring some sort of IPOD dock or something for the music.

Thanks

Sorry I can't answer your question.  We had the semi private reception as there was only 18 of us.

FutureKeese22.....am just wondering when your wedding is booked for and how early you started looking at dresses etc. I had no idea they take that long to come in! We definitely want to book the steel drum band also. Any reviews on that have been great!

I booked my wedding February 2012 for June 2013! I wanted the date so bad and I didn't want to have any other date! :-) I bought my dress on April 21, 2012 the day I went to look at them for the first time! My place I ordered mine from in Iowa said it takes about 5 to 7 months and we are at about 4 months so far! My veil came in already! :-) Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
