Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

I am from Iowa, does anyone know if I can get my marriage certificate here and bring it to Jamaica instead so I don't have to wait forever to receive mine. Or do we have to have a marriage certifcate from Jamaica since that is where we are getting married at? I'm confused!

1 Made it back! The wedding was awesome! Here is the slide show from my photographer Devon Shaw! His work is amazing! Everything went very well, the only problem was with our rooms. I wanted my daughter in the room beside me and that didn't happen. And our first two rooms kept flooding, my husband called the manager up to the room and we were moved the next day. Also we payed for an upgraded room and didn't recieve it! Chandlyn and Donnalee did an amazing job, food was excellant, weather was great I had rented the Pisces restaurant, it was the best right beside the ocean, the manager of that restaurant did an amazing job so did the dj and all of the workers. Can't stress enough how amazing Devon the photographer was! And very reasonable priced! If you have any questions just ask! Angela

If you are getting legally married in Jamaica then you need a Jamaican marriage certificate.  The only way you would need one from Iowa is if you are getting legally married before you go to Jamaica, and even in that case you wouldn't need to take it with you.  On the day of our wedding we got a little peice of paper from the register we signed that I was able to use to change my name and things.  Then about 2 months later they sent us our actual wedding certificate.

Just got back from getting married on April 30th! It was lovely! I brought my own flowers, and was given a table floral arrangement in place of them.
Dolce Vita was lovely. We had a whole section to ourselves that was far away from everyone (in the circular part of the restaurant if you look at photos of it). The food was delicious (We got the squash thyme soup and chicken with walnuts option), and everyone raved about the food for the following days.
The ladies at the spa did not follow how I wanted my hair done, and I even brought photos and had a trial. My hair ended up falling due to the humidity, as well as my MOH's hairstyle. I was also burned by the hairstylist twice, once in the back of my neck and the other right on my forehead. The one on my forehead blistered and looked horrible... and the girls at the spa didn't even care. That was my only bad experience throughout the trip.
The photographer we hired was through the resort. It was $550 for the medium package which included pre-wedding, wedding ceremony, and after the wedding shots. He was very good and I would recommend him.
Any questions about my wedding, just ask!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
